I had a terrible experience with a previous mover so I read Yelp reviews for several moving companies this time and decided to go with Northstar. 

I appreciated their professionalism and availability when speaking to them over the phone. Ted and Lynn were very helpful. Then when I called on a Saturday to confirm my move the next day, someone actually answered and went over everything again with me–very impressive. Everything was confirmed by phone AND email, and when the movers arrived, everything got done quickly and carefully. 

My foreman for the move was Eliseo and he was very professional, caring, and a great listener. He came in and informed me of the move process as we walked into my home, went over the contract, and did walk-through of my home with me before starting the job. He made sure he was aware of everything that was going to be moved and finished the job accurately, proving his experience of several years in the business. 

All in all, I am very satisfied and truly pleased with Northstar and I plan to hire them again for our next move! I was even given the 5% off discount as stated on Yelp and the email I received for my appointment confirmation.

As usual, North Star Moving came through for me again!  I’ve used them four times in the past — yes… FOUR times and I’m never disappointed.  The crew is extremely professional, nothing ever breaks, and they are very courteous and polite.

I love them and will use them again next time.

NorthStar were just great! The guys they sent were super professional and very pleasant. I had a LOT of stuff to move, and many of the things were fragile. The guys packed everything quickly and carefully and the whole move was over before I knew it. I definitely recommend NorthStar to whoever wants a smooth and pleasant move.

From the moment I called Northstar, they went out of their way to make my move as smooth as possible. 

Ron Cohen was delightful and responded very quickly to all my questions and proposed solutions to a tricky and difficult move. 

I was quoted an arrival time of between 8am and 10am, at 755am, Oscar called to ask if we were ready to start, they were parked on the street and ready. I was shocked, on time is great but 5 minutes early was fabulous. 

Moving from Santa Monica to Woodland Hills with a very, very narrow road with severe inclines and turns proved no match for the experienced driver, Harry. Oscar and his team ensured everything was wrapped/Blanketed and protected. Nothing damaged, lost or broken. Plenty of very heavy furniture and staircases, and yet not one of the 4 men complained at all. They were hard working, polite and very sweet. If only all service providers were like this. 

Northstar was the highlight of my move. I will be recommending this team and company to all my friends and coworkers who need moving.

Gadi and the team at NorthStar have been moving me since 2001! I was just married and moving from my apartment to my first home. At the time I was amazed at the speed, efficiency, care, and cost effectiveness of the crew. 
Since then I have used NorthStar for three further moves and have continued to be impressed by their commitment to their clients. Gadi has always taken care of me and my family (not to mention all my junk) as if it were his own, and the crews they’ve sent out have always been professional and fast!

I selected NorthStar Moving Corp from the YELP reviews and was 100%+ satisfied. From the first phone contact through moving day NorthStar exceeded expectations! Tori Fowler was wonderful in planning and based on the checklist provided an estimate that was accurate. The movers, Jesus Meza, Erasmo, and Mario could not have worked harder. They were efficient and extremely careful. We needed the packing, move and unpacking services and they handled all of it within 5 hours. I do not think they took a break; these men hustled. I have never written a review, but I would give NorthStar 6 stars if it were possible.

Thanks to everyone who recommended NorthStar on Yelp, I picked them to help with my move yesterday.  I’ve moved houses 3 times in the past 10 years and by far, NorthStar is THE BEST MOVING COMPANY I’ve ever dealt with!  They are incredibly prompt, fast, courteous, neat, professional and CAREFUL.  Everything you could ask from a moving company.  The foreman they sent to my house is named “Nick” and he was amazing.  They also sent 4 other guys and they finished everything so quickly (I moved into a 3,000 sf house and I have 3 kids!) that the price came in UNDER BUDGET!  It’s hard to find any company, let alone a moving company, that’s this good and honest!  Another word of advice … DO NOT go with the cheapest company … you will be sorry.  They always tack on lots of fees to bring their price back up.  NorthStar was very upfront about any additional charges (gas charge, etc.) so I knew exactly what I was paying ahead of time.  I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NORTHSTAR MOVING!

Yup… or should I say YELP!  I am 63 years old and moved about 8 times with the help of a mover.  Their procedure is to have a rep come to your home and give you a maximum estimate that they will charge.  We liked the rep but had a problem with a high original estimate.  I called 2 other high rated movers from Yelp and one of them gave me a quote approx HALF of what the others did.  I asked him to put it in writing (so there are no addl charges) and I never got it.  So I went with North Star moving from Northridge to Sun City in Indio!  I have never dealt with such a well organized company.  Great contacts from the co. advising me when the movers would be there and most importantly confirming their delivery the next day.
AND… the movers were incredible.  They packed and moved things without conversation.  Nothing broke and they placed all our big furniture where we wanted it… after experimenting a little. Great company…  I never paid such a big tip in my life with no regrets!

I have had the unfortunate experience of moving more times than I care to remember over the last 10-15 years, a couple  of which were cross country moves.  My most recent move ocurred as a result of a miserable divorce which did a real number on my stress level, particularly during the moving process itself.  I am grateful to report that Gadi and the team of movers at North Star  were my best moving experience ever!   Gadi went above and beyond when it came to managing and overseeing several unique and challenging aspects of my move.  And the moving crew was meticulous and professional during the entire pack,  load and unload  process .  I would highly recommend North Star Moving Corp to anyone seeking the services of a professional moving company, and I would most certainly use them again if I were facing the unfortunate experience of another move.

Honestly, I was preparing to be let down, given the high ratings, it seemed to good to be true.

But it was just as great as described. From initial phone call to completion, everything was taken care of. The staff was polite and careful with the equipment, and this was absolutely the easiest move I’ve had.

PLEASE STOP AND READ THIS REVIEW ABOUT NORTHSTAR MOVING COMPANY…… I recently moved from SF to NYC and contacted Northstar after reading about them on line (Yelp, BBB, Moving http://info.com, etc). When researching a moving company it is hard to disseminate one from another; there are always mixed reviews. Well, that’s where I come in. I have 3 things to say about Northstar: Wendy, Assi and Fausto. Wendy, the “woman behind the curtain” promised me the world; Assi, the appraiser delivered it (outbidding 3 other companies), and Fausto, the foreman, made it all happen. The entire team was spectacular, especially Fausto (lip service is easy from corporate; it’s the actual movers who can make or break the experience). Fausto made me feel like I was at a Ritz Carlton. “As you wish” he said to me for 48 hours while packing my 2500 sq foot flat, as I asked him to “do this” and make sure he “does that”. My expectations were beyond exceeded and I have never experience d such professionalism with a moving company prior ( NorthStar actually had 2 manager s come in to pack my fine china and art). I am not a Yelper but this experience could not go untold. They are a 5 star company.

I was very impressed. The movers were quick, efficient, and very careful with my belongings.  Wendy, in the main office was amazing in helping me and scheduling my move!  Someone recommended this company to me and I would do the same.  Prices were very reasonable.

Moving is the most painful process ever and hiring NorthStar was the best decision we ever made! They were AMAZING. We moved from a 2 bedroom apartment (on the 5th floor, down the hallway, through a courtyard). They send 3 movers and they made the move effortless. The were efficient and on top of everything. When we got to to our new place, they unloaded all the boxes and placed them in the rooms that they belong. Oh and a huge plus, they provided unlimited apparel boxes, and transferred all my clothes into the closet..no messy clothes on the floor! I love it! I highly recommend hiring NorthStar.

I recently moved with NorthStar for the third time and once again found their service exceptional. They definitely live up to their high rating with the Better Business Bureau. From the office staff to the 3 man team sent to assist in our move on each occasion was courteous and helpful. I would recommend NorthStar to ensure your move is seamless and less stressful.

First off, I’m sure I’m not in the minority when I say I hate moving.  I hate every aspect of the process, especially the lugging of crap up and down stairs or through round about ways to get to an elevator.  I hate it, put me in Gitmo instead…

That said, I highly recommend NorthStar if you’re like me and the thought of calling up family and friends to invite them to help move makes me shudder and gives me hives.

I did my research and called around, I compared this and that and in the end, I feel I had made the absolute right choice.  I got quotes from FlatRate and it came out to $510 and they took of $50.  It was tempting as I wasn’t sure what the final outcome with NorthStar was going to be, and I definitely had a budget of $500 in mind.

My sales person was Samantha and she was great.  Part of the sales pitch or not, she was excited to help me move.  Which made me feel eased.  She wasn’t pushy and when I asked for a lower rate, she was more than willing and understanding.  You never know unless you ask.  I had my concerns at first, I assume sometimes when you ask for a lower rate, something is going to give somewhere.  I had the nightmare that the movers showing up late, dilly dallying and taking their time to make up the difference ect.

But no worst case senario happened.  The movers showed up a bit earlier, loaded up and packed things as needed, didn’t graze any walls and were very careful with everything.  No damage to my belongings, the apartment, the building and especially no damage to my back.  The move took them 1 hour to load, and about 2 hours to unload in the proper areas.  Let me tell you, the pathways from the apartment to the truck and then the truck to the new place were not easy treks.

So it roughly took them 3 hours to load and unload.  Quick considering the last two times, it took myself and 4 other members of my family 12 hours to do that…

I unfortunately don’t remember the three guys that moved me, but they were all awesome.  No effing around like my brothers and their friends. ha ha.

Oh yeah, the cost?  Flat Rate had me moving for $510 right?  NorthStar’s bill came out to under $390.  Which included materials and the 1 hour drive time.

So final words, you can spend $150 and rent a U-Haul, materials, get no waredrobe boxes, fill up the gas tank, call up friends and family, and unpack and rehang your clothes and get things close to done 10 hours later and then complain about your back.

or

Spend some a little bit more and get it all done and put the liability on someone else and get it done in under 4 hours.

I slept well that night, without a sore back and my girlfriend didn’t have to hear me whimper from pain in my sleep.

Samantha and NorthStar – FOR THE WIN!!!

We used NorthStar Moving Corp for the 2nd time to make the big move from a rental to our own house. Once again, we were beyond happy with the service. The 3 men that arrived were very kind & professional, and they all worked extremely quickly. We had our rental house to clear out as well as 2 storage units, and they took care of it all in a timely fashion.

Everything was transported in perfect condition – no damage to any of our stuff. They took the time to organize boxes they way we wanted, and they even took apart our bed-frame which wouldn’t fit through the door (we built it in the room).

They’re prices are reasonable, and anyone who is less expensive is probably cheaper for a reason. I would absolutely recommend NorthStar for any move. Everyone I have dealt with from there has been courteous, professional and efficient.

I just recently moved with NorthStar Moving and it was amazing!

I have used NorthStar Moving two times in the past, and as a loyal client and big fan I knew that I could trust them with something as valuable as my family’s move. We recently had a baby, and with an expanding family, moving became both necessary and more challenging. However, from the first call to the last few boxes, their service was exceptional! The movers worked hard, the office team followed up throughout the move, we felt like the move was just as important to them as it was to us. We moved locally within the same neighborhood, but I don’t think I could have done it without NorthStar Moving. This was definitely the best moving experience ever! In these tough economic times you have to make sure you get value for what you are paying for, and I am happy to say that my move with NorthStar Moving is definitely worth it. Not only did they get the hard work taken care of, but they gave my family and me peace of mind, which in a move is priceless. Thanks to Yelp I found a moving company in NorthStar that I could trust with my belongings. I have no complaints, (though I had everything boxed up and ready to go when they arrived so I can’t speak to their actual small item packing abilities) they helped my move go smoothly by taking my heaviest, most cumbersome items on a short, three mile move. That way I saved my back a little pain and they were able to come in, quickly load up my larger furniture and I think even they were surprised how quickly the process went. 

They were professional, prompt and I didn’t notice any damages. Their customer service (led by Wendy on the phone when I called for a reservation) was friendly and personable, and made me feel that I could trust them.

I was dreading having to move especially since I have a baby at home and needed the baby essentials unpacked and ready to go the same day. I had 3 guys from Northstar who were total life savers. These guys showed up a few minutes early and they had our stuff loaded into the truck in less than 2 hours. I was so amazed a bought the guys lunch. After lunch they started unloading and we were done a couple hours later. I was sure the move was going to go into the evening. Needless to say I was in total shock  when we were done by 2pm.  It was by far the easiest move I’ve ever experienced. The movers were fast, courteous and friendly. I would highly recommend Northstar to anyone I know.  I thought their pricing is reasonable and their service was excellent!
