This is my second move with NorthStar. My first move was from LA to the Bay Area and I was so happy with the service that I decided to go with them again (see my other review on the LA branch of NorthStar).
This time my husband and I were moving from our apartment to a house. We had 2 storage units that also need to be moved and NorthStar was happy to accommodate our multiple pick up locations. Our movers, Miguel, Michael, and Ricardo, were SUPERSTARS! The entire move took 8 full hours and the guys were hustling. They took a lunch break between pick up and delivery and made sure to credit that time back to us. They were very personable guys and were gentle will our belongings. We didn’t have anything break or get damaged in transit.
Hopefully we won’t be moving again for at least 20 years and won’t need their services again any time soon, but we highly recommend this company.

I bought the deal on yelp and forgot to use it! But the people that make this company are the BEST! I can’t believe how nice they are. There isn’t anything I can review except to say these folks are the best! They handled everything with “white” gloves and delivered above expectations. Please consider this company when you want to move!

I chose this company because of their reviews and I’m grateful I did – they were every bit as impressive as their reviews online! From the in-house crew that booked and scheduled my move (Beatriz) to the movers during the day of the move (Jose Garcia, Armen & Andres), they were all top-notch! I was so impressed with their professionalism over the phone, taking time to confirm the booking and letting me know in advance of their arrival about what time they would be there. On site, they were clean, tidy, efficient, friendly, helpful and courteous. When tasked with moving all the items I had in to a smaller storage unit, they did a remarkable job of getting the items packed securely and perfectly – I was so impressed when they were finished! They were super efficient, did a great job quoting the time expected and they were very professional. I will definitely use them again and recommend NorthStar Moving Company to anyone wanting a professional 5-star moving company!
These folks know how to MOVE! Luis R., Miguel R, and Josh G. came in like gang busters! They treated my stuff like it was their own. They wrapped my furniture with moving blankets, followed with shrink wrap and finally with tape. You might think this process takes a lot of time, but that’s not the case. I had two pieces I was SUPER picky about, but it didn’t phase them. They listened to me and explained they treat everyone’s belongings with respect! They were very professional and courteous. It was quite amazing to watch them work. I couldn’t believe how efficient and strong they were, not to mention the speed at which they moved. I would definitely hire them again. Last, but not least, the final bill was less than the original estimate!
I recently moved from LA to New York. I was definitely stressed out about finding a mover, as it seemed that many had some good reviews and some bad reviews. I will caveat that I didn’t have a ton of stuff and I was transporting anything too expensive. I went with NorthStar Moving and it ended up being a great choice! The cost was very reasonable and they charged me exactly what was agreed upon from the beginning. Gil, my relocation specialist, was very responsive, answered all my questions and followed up on all my requests. He was great! I also dealt with others in the company who were very helpful and responsive as well. The drivers were efficient and my belongings appear in good condition. All in all it was a good experience.
Update – A wonderfully personable representative from the company got in touch with me and was extremely apologetic for the movers lateness. I realized that actually the movers had a 2-hour window to show up, which I hadn’t paid attention to before. With that in mind, they were just a tad bit late, not worth demoting a star, so I’m bringing them back up to their rightful 5-star position.
I highly recommend using this moving company. The whole experience left me more than impressed with this company’s customer service, and, more importantly, the movers themselves, as I mentioned previously, were fast, friendly, careful and adaptive to our needs through the whole move.

An amazing moving company with very professional movers!! I never imagined moving could be so easy and hassle free!! I even got a coupon from yelp, for $150 off. The movers arrived on time and finished up early. They took my bed apart in like 5 seconds and put it up at the new place place even faster!! Thanks soo much guys!!
I definitely recommend NorthStar movers. I didn’t have all my stuff packed up completely when they arrived, and they let me borrow boxes for the loose odds
and ends. When we arrived at my new place, they helped to move a futon out of my car and moved a fridge that was delivered, in addition to all the furniture
and boxes they had transported from my old place. Moving and packing is stressful enough, and these guys were friendly and professional and made the
process pretty quick and painless!
