Great service! The movers were prompt and ready. They were gracious with the change in the moving path with the apartment complex closing down the main elevator. They broke down all of the furniture pretty quickly. The wrapped up and protected our furniture and belongings and took care of them like their own. Always courteous and accommodating. They navigated the construction zone masterfully. We had a sleeping baby in a room and they moved like gazelles and did not wake her ups. From point A to point B the process was seamless and effortless. Highly recommend them.

So this move had a couple hiccups. But the way the company handled it was top notch. I will definitely use them again.

We have a toddler, so had to carefully coordinate babysitting and nap time around the move. The movers ended up coming late (one mover was sick and they needed a last-minute sub). We rolled with that, but it did throw off the childcare planning. Then their truck broke down! More bad luck.

But the movers themselves were very friendly and professional, and when I told the company how the move went, the customer service team was awesome.

Edgar and his team called me in advance that they were arriving. This worked out great as it gave enough time to be ready with my move. They were on time as Edgar had mentioned.

Although I had packed all the boxes/ items to be moved, I was pleasantly surprised that the move was so swift! Edgar was very clear about the moving process and him and his team were extremely efficient the entire time. I really appreciated all the help with the move as it would have been extremely challenging for me to handle this all by myself!

I would definitely request this same team anytime I have to move in the future!

The NorthStar team were extremely prepared and incredibly professional. Calling into the office to schedule with a quick move date was fast, easy and welcoming. The foreman called the morning of the move to give a real timeframe. The team was fast, efficient, friendly, outstanding. This is the second time using NorthStar in the past year and half. My experience with them has been outstanding. I will definitely use their service again in the future. Hopefully not as quickly as I needed them again this time around.

I was able to get an appointment about a week before I moved. It was helpful they had availability so soon ahead of time. Also, they have another option to view your home ahead of time, to estimate how much time it will take, and they’ll mark the maximum time not to exceed.

They were prompt and on time. I would say there was some confusion about the time starting. Initially when I first called, the office lady said I’d have the 12-6pm slot. This was a little nerve racking for us, since our estimated time of move was going to be a max of 7.5 hours! And our condo has a moving time slot of only 4 hours. Then my fiancé called, they said they’d come earlier, 11am. Then the day before, 9am. Then a few hours before, 8:30! I mean in the grand scheme of things it worked out okay, but just a lack of communication. There was no way to confirm what they initially said, since it didn’t say on the estimated sheet. Oh well.

They were extremely quick to move. With a large sofa, small sofa, dining room table, 4 chairs, tv stand, queen bed + mattress, desk, another tv stand, 2 trunks, and what felt like 40 boxes, it only took them 2 hrs 15 mins to move down 2 flights of stairs!!!! (With 3 guys). Also they have closet hanger boxes, so that helps. They also have large blankets to cover the sofa, large furniture, and wrap as part of their service! So awesome.

When you move into your new place, they take down all the wrapping and also ask where you want to place things, so have an idea ahead of time.

Total time was 5.5 hours. Total bill was $800. Honestly it was completely worth it!!! It also came with the COI included, if you need one, at no charge. No scratches in my old home or new one.

Great long distance moving experience. We moved from SF to Seattle, took 9 days (the window was 2-12 days) with everything delivered (23 items including boxes, mattress and furnitures), nothing broken or missing. Both the pickup and delivery team were very professional and efficient. Every time I called customer service for updates they were very friendly. Thanks for the great service.
I recently decided to turn my lovely home in Brentwood – Los Angeles into a rental property and decided to move to another place.  The only moving company I trust is North Star Movers.  They were very easy to contact to schedule the move and to set the time and date that was convenient for me.  After contacting them, I immediately received the email confirmation for the move.

During the week of the move, they confirmed with me again the schedule and if there were any additional things I need.  On the day of the move, they called me ahead of time and were very prompt and timely at arrival.  The crew that helped me was very knowledgeable, professional and pleasant to work with.  I was able to tell them specifically what I needed.  They loaded and unloaded everything I needed and made sure everything was secure.  They were able to deliver all the big and small items to the exact location I desired at my new home.  This is my second time using this very reliable company and will utilize them again for the next move I make.
Moving sucks.  But, choosing NorthStar Movers to help me with my move was the best decision ever.  Let me repeat that: BEST.DECISION.EVER.  Honestly, don’t bother calling any other company.  I got a few quotes when I started the process and from the start, after meeting Alan, the estimator, I knew I was choosing NorthStar.  From quote to move, everyone who works at this company was amazing!!!   On move day, the guys came as scheduled, four movers. They even called me to let me know their ETA.  I’ve used movers before so I was worried about my furniture being damaged but let me tell you, these guys are absolute PROS.  My crew was headed by Manny.  Manny is OUTSTANDING!!!  A consummate professional and he had things under control.  The crew included Idelsonso, Jessee, and William. All of those guys were also OUTSTANDING! I can’t say enough about them. Not only were they nice, pleasant, professional, they also took very good care of my things. These guys worked hard. Making sure my furniture was properly wrapped and transported, and when we got to the new place, they unwrapped and placed things where I asked. They then even said come take a look to make sure I liked where things were placed and for one of my beds, I had it placed and then asked them to turn it the other way, and no problem – they did it without hesitation.  No complaints, nothing.  They were happy to help to make sure I was happy and satisfied. Seriously, they were amazing. They worked hard!!   I already told Manny that the next time I move, which will be soon, I plan to call and request this same crew!!!   And then, I had a follow up call after the move from their customer service department. Stephanie called and she was absolutely amazing too.  So helpful, patient, and nice!!  I mean seriously, she was one of the nicest customer service reps I spoke to.  I was beyond stressed out and NorthStar exceeded my expectations and completely helped my transition.  

Just call NorthStar.  Don’t bother with any of the other companies.  Some of the other estimators that came gave me the creeps.  That’s how you just know. And with NorthStar, like I said, it was smooth and easy from the start and there are no hidden costs!!

I’ve moved 4 times in the past 2.5 years! I love you San Francisco!

I’ve used a few movers, and I picked Northstar randomly from yelp this time around since I needed to move on a Sunday.

The move went well except the elevator broke at 1 Henry Adams!!  The property manager was useless, So we had to deal with a slower move out and the guys handled it super well and kept us on track.

The whole experience with this company was super solid and operations was organized and transparent:

-From talking to Stephanie for a quote / set up
-getting the COI (insurance) from them for the move in to the new apartment building
-organizing the time of arrival (showed up 830am for 8am-10am window) -dealing with what I would consider a mess elevator issue
-keeping things on time, on track, transparent, and safe/clean

Edgar and team (3 in total) did a great job, and truly “delivered” on my move. Overall costs + quality of work was solid and was a GREAT price relative to others I have used (Think $500 vs $1800!).

I would use this company and team again.  Of course it’s always about who shows up to do the move and Edgar was a great dude.
