Final Update:
Thanks to the phenomenal customer service from NorthStar Movers’ HR department, I am able to confidently update my review to 5 stars. I was able to satisfactorily resolve the issue I had regarding my broken lamp, and I am also pleased and convinced that my poor experience with the previous manager was a one-off and not the level of service this company would typically provide.
Also, their visit to my office building for a moving quote was efficient, polite, friendly, and timely. Although the decision of which moving company to use for our business move isn’t up to me (our home office decides this) I am pleased we got an opportunity to get a quote from them and was satisfied with the service.
Ruben and Orlando helped out our business move into a new office. They did great and were very professional. Definitely will recommend to others.
This was a slightly bumpy ride that all turned out well in the end, thanks to truly exceptional customer service from NorthStar Movers’ headquarters.
Before I get into the details of my experience, the main takeaway here is that you should not hesitate to tell the crew manager if you’re unhappy and/or call the main office, who assured me that they take customer feedback so seriously they will even send out a new moving crew, mid-move, if you’re not thrilled with your current team.
While I wasn’t unhappy with my team (I certainly wouldn’t have swapped them out for a new crew!), I wasn’t blown away by them either. Although my movers were super nice and careful, I did have to point out things they had not yet packed — entire cupboards and drawers — and I found a few things in the house at the last minute, before they pulled away from my old address, which I managed to sneak into the back of the truck just before they closed the door.
Somehow a couple of things also went missing, I discovered as I was unpacking — nothing of great monetary value, just things with sentimental value to me. Once I discovered the missing items a few days later and called them, NorthStar managed to track down my misplaced garden statue, which had been left on the truck, and generously compensated me for the other two missing things: a winter coat and a back massager.
I told them at that time, while I had someone from customer service on the phone, that I had been unimpressed by the general “hustle” of the team, which wasn’t as drill-sergeant-ready as some crews I’ve used in the past, who have a super clear system and assembly line-esque matrix in place. I also mentioned that I felt the crew did a somewhat illogical packing job, in places, which I discovered as I was unpacking. For example, the components of a stand mixer from the kitchen was somehow packed in two (or maybe three) different boxes. This made unpacking and putting things away pretty annoying at times.
But NorthStar also compensated me for an hour of move time, since I was unhappy with the overall speed of the move, and told me that they’re always happy to give you a “not to exceed” price or flat rate, if you call an estimator to come by before your move. That way, you never pay for the crew’s slowness — they do. This was great advice, which I will definitely use moving forward.
So, all in all, NorthStar Movers is an imperfect moving company (like all of them) that really cares, and I trust a company that takes your feedback so seriously that they do everything possible to make you happy in the end.

I am the Wellness Director at a Senior Living Community in Corona. We had a new resident move in on Friday and a team of three movers came to move her in.
Before they began to unload the truck, they witnessed one of our established eldery residents fall down behind our building and hit her head. The three gentleman jumped into action. One comforted the resident while another caught her dog who had run away as the leash was dropped during the fall, and the other gentleman ran into the building looking for help.
We are so grateful for the quick response by your Team!
Our resident who was injured is home now and on the mend!

I have moved a lot since coming to LA 13 years ago and I have never had such an easy and flawless move. These guys at north star are super efficient and trust worthy. They took good care of my stuff and they did it in no time. I was done with my move in 3 hours and they helped me organize 13 years of crap. I’d hire these guys again for sure!

I only use NorthStar Movers. The couple of times I have had to move around Los Angeles – the first time NorthStar and they were awesome, the second time I used someone else (don’t know why) and immediately regretted it. I had to move again recently and called NorthStar and they seriously just are the best.
Team leader Miguel and his colleagues Matt and Caesar were efficient, friendly and so careful with our belongings – utmost professionals! I tell all my friends that they have to use NorthStar because they really are at the top of the moving game.
