I believe I got my estimate and appointment set up by messaging the more popular San Francisco page, but writing my review here by request of my boy Jesse.
Planning a long out of state move is rough and take a lot of time. I had maybe 30 boxes and 5 pieces of furniture including a bed, tables, and chairs. Got my two hour window and I was ready to go.
Tail end comes and my boys Jesse, Kevin, and Corry show up (or Kevin and the band). Not only were they super professional, coming fully equipped with dollies and packing materials, they were highly efficient – taking almost 400 pounds of materials in one go, amazing!
One of my guys helped me out in the paperwork, super easy to sign and broke down the process real smoothly. Sure enough, another North Star employee emailed me the next day with an exact rate very close to the estimate I got.
From my call from Alma over the phone to my three guys on move out day, North Star has very personable basically been flawless support for my move. I am literally a better person from this move, and I look forward to seeing them on the other side.
Residential
It was nice to meet Jonathan, Jason and Marvin. It was a successful experience. Movers were polite and sweet. Good attitudes and nice smiles. Jonathan took apart my bed and put it back together efficiently. Set up the furniture nicely for me. Nothing broken. My cats are very happy with the way their things were handled, too. Even though Jonathan is allergic, he pushed through and got the job done efficiently. $690 for 6 hours is what it ended up costing. I would recommend.
Best moving company ever. We moved from LA to Boston and it was very easy. I especially want to thank Manny, Alfonso and David for their work. They are very professional and polite. Reasonable price, high quality service. We strongly recommend.
My husband and I have always handled our own moves in the past, so I was a little nervous and unsure what to expect since this was our first time using movers. Deon and his crew quickly got down to business loading our many boxes on the truck and paying close attention to detail to make sure all our furniture was properly wrapped up and ready to go. Everyone was friendly and didn’t seem to let the heat wave slow them down. Unpacking went smoothly, which was important to me because it started to feel like home again by the end of the day and was a huge help in welcoming my toddler from daycare to a place she recognized. North Star Movers did a great job and I will definitely plan on using them in future moves!
We just had a move from Anaheim to Lake Arrowhead to finally retire. Abraham and his crew on Monday and again late Tuesday afternoon for some extra items made the move easy instead of a nightmare. They were fast, courteous, and professionally wrapped everything. Nothing was damaged and they handled our items as if they were their own.
Our kids recommended them to us when they moved in Los Angeles and we are so thankful.

Vatche, Brandon, and Dennis did a seamless moving job for us. They helped my sister and I move out of our 2 bedroom in LA into our new 2 bedroom in Redlands. They were timely, responsive, professional, and handled everything with care. Prior to arriving, they called to let us know they were 45 minutes away so we could prepare. I’ve moved a LOT and NorthStar is hands down the best moving company I’ve encountered – I’ve used them twice (Sunnyvale to SF last year and SF to Emeryville this year) and will continue to do so. They move your stuff at lightning speed, but carefully, and will even help disassemble and reassemble your furniture. It is worth every penny.
