Decided to go through this service through all of the great yelp reviews. When I first signed up, I got a call from Northstar confirming dates,
time and people needed. They gave me a pretty fair price.
Day of: Adrian, Tobias and Noe was the crew and I could not have asked for a better one. They were super efficient, quick and shockingly strong.
They come PREPARED. Like seriously, I procrastinated packing a lot but these guys are balls to the wall quick in getting things packed and on the truck.
They were able to reassemble slightly complicated ikea bed no problem. All in all, for the price and work it was well worth less pain on my end and less stress.
I will definitely be using these guys again if I ever move.
Had a awesome experience with Northstar today. Big shout out to Hannes, Robert and Ricardo for everything they did today (amazing packing included) for an interstate move.
Not only they called me ahead of time and came on time, but also took care of all my things, even going the extra mile to make it a very smooth and wonderful experience.

NorthStar recently moved my office without one single issue. Even when I went into panic mode when I thought we couldn’t make the move happen on our end, Ilan talked me off the ledge and assured me they could make it happen for us no matter what!! The team he provided was professional, efficient, and very hard working! Ilan gave us the quote and the best customer service anyone could ask for — when you are faced with all the facets of a big move like this. I am now coordinating my mom’s residential move and I vowed to return to NorthStar because of their stellar service and performance. They will get her business too! Thank you to all!!
Finally getting around to part 2 of my 2 part review (Please read my first review dated 12/18/2014). Wanted to wait until I was completely unpacked,
and any and all issues were resolved to do my follow up.
Move in day happened exactly when they said it would, and they showed up first thing in the morning with a crew of 6 ready to roll. The crew was great,
and they unpacked and reassembled everything perfectly! My only complaint was the amount of tape involved. The unpack crew got most of it, but a
few of the items they missed were a pain to get the tape off of. Other than that, I was completely satisfied with the move in process!
I noticed a couple of weeks ago that 1 small box containing a few bathroom items, as well as my shop-vac were missing. I worked with customer service, and I am more than happy to say that by following the process my issues have all been reconciled! I understand when you have a move of this magnitude
(mine required 2 trucks), there is a chance of misplaced items. Northstar was fabulous, they took care of me every step of the way. I actually like to see how a company handles adversity. If everything goes according to plan, you have no way to judge how they will react when things dont go smoothly.
Northstar gets 6 stars (although stupid Yelp would only allow me to get them 5).
Moving sucks, but Northstar made it as fantastic of an experience as it could be. We moved from San Francisco to NYC and from the beginning Northstar was
friendly, communicative, prompt, considerate of our things and all in all amazing. We moved 5100 lbs of stuff, a lot of it easy to scratch, break and destroy Ikea
furniture. Not one thing arrived broken or even blemished. Seriously! Further, EVERYTHING came. We had tons of individual, non-boxed items that I thought for
sure would get lost. Nope. Every single thing, from guitars to individual ski poles arrived. Also, both the guys who picked up our stuff and the guys who dropped
our stuff off were awesome. Hard workers, fast and considerate.
Northstar even work with our travel schedule to ensure that our items would be delivered after we arrived from a lengthy road trip. Although the delivery window
they quoted was long (we were thinking it would arrive late Feb), it showed up Feb 12, ten days before we thought it would.
Last summer my parents made the move from NYC to San Francisco and used North American Van Lines. HORRIBLE. Never communicated with them, took a
month to get the stuff, destroyed expensive furniture and the guys who did the delivery were jerks.
Needless to say, we were nervous for this move after their experience, but I could not recommend NorthStar more.
NorthStar helped me move from LA to SF so this is for the LA part of the move. Everyone was super friendly and helpful, from Beatriz who initially explained how everything works, to Alan who came out to my place for the moving estimate, to Rebecca who followed up with me the day before the move, and the three amazing movers that worked so hard to make sure that my furniture is all nicely wrapped and packaged so they wouldn’t break during the transport. They were super fast, very professional and friendly, and made it such an easy process for me. The only thing is that there may have been some miscommunication between the dispatch people. I was not contacted for delivery until almost 5pm the day before. I called several times to get an update and was given a different expected delivery date every time. And on the delivery date, the movers called to let me know that they’d deliver at 10:30am, which is different from the noon to 4pm window that I was given. But these guys were super flexible and we were able to reschedule the delivery to a later time and everything worked out great! Thank you!
I am really impressed with Northstar and their professionalism! Gil came to my home and gave me a quote (reasonable and professional) and Gil always answered my never ending emails quickly. The 3 movers -Mark, Hector and Andres were AMAZING! they were on time, saved me a HUGE headache of packing (moving is already stressful enough). They were really wonderful. I would highly recommend this team of professionals for any move! Thank you.
We were extremely impressed with our recent experience using NorthStar. From the start they were quick to respond and come by for an estimate. They were extremely flexible and worked around our moving close date which was very helpful. On the moving days the movers were extremely fast, professional and very hard working. We were very happy with our move!
I’ve used Northstar twice – once for a local move in Los Angeles, and then to move from LA to Austin, TX. They were awesome both times. The reviews here are so glowing that I dug around online, trying to see if they were paying for good reviews or something, but they really are just that great!
My local move was quick and easy. They had my stuff on the truck in less than an hour, and unloaded it almost as quickly. My cross-country move took longer, because they have to wrap everything in plastic. The movers warned me about things that might not make it (like a very wobbly bookshelf), but they packed everything so well that nothing broke!
The really long delivery window is the biggest pain about moving cross-country, but Northstar’s wasn’t too bad. Mine was 10 days long, they kept me very well updated, and my stuff made it in 7 days. I would definitely recommend these guys for your next move!
I had a wonderful experience with NorthStar. The level of customer service and professionalism was great. The 3 men who packed my belongings came on time, they were efficient, hardworking, and pleasant. Although 3 boxes were accidentally left NorthStar took care of it immediately. I actually have to take the blame, since I performed a final walk through after they were done and forgot to look inside one of my closets. When I noticed boxes were left I immediately called the company and spoke with Juan. Juan was amazing. I expressed to Juan that I was worried that my belongings would get lost since they were not with the original shipment. He was extremely understanding and promised to personally make sure my boxes would be included with my other belongings. He even promised to stay at work until my shipment arrived. He found someone to pick up my boxes right away. He called me when my boxes arrived and called when my other shipment arrived at the warehouse. He personally placed my boxes with the other items and took a picture of it for me. I was extremely appreciative of his level of service. Juan truly went over and beyond.
My shipment arrived within the stated window. The movers who delivered my belongings were also friendly and professional. However, one of my lamps was accidentally broken. I called NorthStar to inform them and to begin the claim process. I left a message with someone and I was immediately sent claim forms. It was during the holidays so I didn’t have much time to fill out the forms. However, a representative from NorthStar- Monica, called me to inquire about the claim and damage. She handled everything for me over the phone. I sent pictures of the damage, signed a form, and received a check the following week. I was so impressed at how proactive they were to address the problem. Mistakes happen. But the level of customer service I received from NorthStar doesn’t happen every day. They are truly a company that values their customers and strives to provide excellent service.
