I have used Northstar many, many times over the past six years. I will never use another moving company. The young men are well-mannered, clean and gracious. They take care to wrap each piece and are as careful as possible.  I recommend this company highly.
NorthStar Moving Company did an amazing job moving us into our new house. Richard D, Joey M, and Karan M were super professional! They showed up on-time, packed everything with care, and made the drop without every making as much as a scratch on any of our stuff. Overall these three guys did a great job. We highly recommend these three guys and NorthStar moving company.
These guys are tops!  I highly recommend!

I had a few challenges: hadn’t packed a thing, had to move to a unit across a street (close, but awkward!) and had to split up what went over as the Gas Co. (one star for them) won’t turn on my gas here until Tuesday (5 days after my move-in).

Darryl M., Ricardo, Hector, and Tavov were a seamless team!  They also totally understood all those challenges above and accommodated perfectly!  It was a bit confusing but they made it seem easy!  They were very professional and great representation of the company.

The company also provided boxes that I lacked (for a small fee). They do charge 30 min driving time, but that’s common in my experience for movers.

They have a coupon here (as you might see) as well have great rates.  I paid $169/hr for a (skilled) team of 4.

Thanks NorthStar – you made one of the least fun things in life as painless as possible!
Pros! These guys were so good at what they do! 4 guys came in and did the job perfectly.
Fred, Artem & the guys worked with us for 4 days & we were very pleased with their professionalism. They are hardworking, courteous & honest men.
I highly recommend their team.

Scheduling an appointment was super easy and quick. They worked with me on scheduling, and was even responsive after the appointment was made (I needed some forms filled out and Gloria returned it the same day).

Tek and his team were quick, professional, and easy to work with. Would be using them again for my next move.

We used NorthStar for a local move. I was very impressed all around. Before hiring them, I thought I was going to pack up our stuff because I couldn’t imagine trusting strangers to do it. But after the exhaustion of actually packing a few boxes set in and I watched some of NorthStar’s YouTube videos on their process, I decided to give them a try. And they did not disappoint. All of our stuff – even the cheap stuff – was carefully wrapped and securely packed. They were quick and responsive to all of my requests. And I’m truly amazed at how strong they are…they were lifting heavy pieces of solid wood furniture like it was nothing! I am so glad we hired NorthStar!

I cannot say enough good things about this company, NorthStar Moving!  We are so grateful to them for their help, professionalism, attention to detail, positive attitudes and speed during this stressful time in our lives.

It all began with a video estimate.  I downloaded the app onto my phone prior and at the appointed time, Gloria sent me a link, I clicked on it and presto!  We were live on a video chat.  I would say we spent about a half hour (perhaps a little more) going through my house.  I was able to show her the rooms’ contents, the contents of our cabinets and all that so she could have a better idea of what we were moving and therefore provide a better estimate to avoid any surprises along the way in what this move would cost us.

Based on reputation, I was comfortable trusting them to be able to do what they said they would do. For the record, I did get a second quote from another moving company and NorthStar Moving beat their quote significantly.  The other company, also with a good reputation, did not offer unpacking services but they did do packing as well, of course, as moving.  NorthStar Moving’s quote turned out to be significantly less than the other company PLUS NorthStar Moving’s quote included unpacking in addition to packing and moving.

So, the day of the move came and a few minutes before 8:00am, our team, led by William P. (Team Leader), along with Benjamin S., Jorge M., Jorge L. and Hector G., arrived.  It seemed like I had just shaken William’s hand, turned around to say hello to the rest of the team, turned back and William already had a half box of our dishes in the kitchen packed.  When I say they wasted no time getting to work, it’s true.  The rest of the day, they moved so quickly, the contents of each room quickly disappearing into boxes.  Those things that could not go in a box, like our baby grand piano, were expertly wrapped in moving blankets and everything was handled with care.

By the end of the first day, we were entirely packed.  We had so many boxes, each of which was labeled.  That completed the first day.   Everything was ready for loading onto the truck.  Frankly, I was exhausted even though I had not lifted a finger.  All we did was to answer questions.  The movers did the rest.
I think it is important to stop here and talk about customer service.  The team stayed upbeat and positive despite the 100 degree heat outside and the obvious strenuousness of moving all our stuff.  It’s been many years since I moved myself and I still recall how it is really, REALLY hard work.  Throughout the move, they were in good spirits, upbeat and positive.  I have so much respect for a person working that hard and yet still having a genuine smile.  As a matter of fact, after the third day when they left, I actually missed them.  They were that likable.  Hats off to William P. (Team Leader), Benjamin S., Jorge M., Jorge L. and Hector G!
Day two of the move began promptly at 8:00am just like the first.  The movers arrived and immediately set about loading the boxes they had packed the previous day onto the truck.  We had many boxes along with couches, beds and all so it took some time to load up the truck. By early noon time or so, everything was on the truck.  We had filled up one of their moving trucks completely.  I mean, there was not room for another item.  I think we put one last something with the guys in the cab but that was it.

After breaking for lunch, we met at our new home and without missing a beat, boxes were flying off the truck but always handled with the utmost care.  I can vividly remember the guys dropping off a couple boxes inside then running back to the truck.  And throughout it all, everything was handled with great care.  In the final analysis, all our items arrived safely without a scratch.  By the end of day two, all the boxes were in the house.  Everything that had been wrapped up, such as the couches and piano, were unpacked and placed where we asked them to be placed.  Again that day, we just directed traffic.  The guys did the rest.

Coming into the third day, I was feeling it but if William, Benjamin, Jorge, Jorge and Hector were exhausted, it was impossible to tell.  They unpacked our things out of boxes and took the boxes with them which gave us a head start on getting settled into our new home.

I made a point of writing this detailed review because I was that impressed with this company.  In this day and age, sometimes it feels like customer service is a buzz word from my parents’ era.  But NorthStar Moving came through for us at a time when we were feeling the stress of having just bought and sold a home, not to mention the stress of the physical move.  They really took care of us and exemplified what I consider excellent customer service. Thank you NorthStar Moving!
These guys are amazing and moved our family from West LA to Irvine. Fred and his crew arrived promptly in the morning and packed our entire house ridiculously fast. They were extremely careful and meticulous in packing/moving our belongings to the truck. Once at the destination, the team unloaded even quicker and moved around some furniture for us as a courtesy. Fred actually sprained his ankle pretty bad but kept working through it like a champ!  I highly recommend Northstar for any move you’re considering.

Paul: So this is the… I didn’t know until my Brother-In-Law told us. This is actually a ‘Great Room’.  I said, well, it’s a nice room, too. I like it as well.  But, it turns out they actually have things called ‘Great Rooms,’ and this is one of them. And it’s not just a… I don’t know if it’s a great room or not, but I mean, technically, it is the ‘Great Room’, so, there you go.

Jacqui: Yeah, his jokes are definitely not… They’re, they’re so bad. They’re so bad!

Paul: (Laughs) Let me think about this for a second.

Jacqui: umm… They’re a little old school, if I have to be honest. But, he’s really funny, though.

Paul: My name is Paul Fanning. Or Paul. My name is Paul. A little bit about me: I’m a father of two, a husband, see if I can get all this out the right way, and I make my living as a computer programmer. Web Programmer.

Celia: My name is Celia Fanning, and I am Paul Fanning’s wife. We moved in this house about eight years ago. We’re trying to downsize. And we’re moving in to a really nice, little smaller house, in Simi Valley. And, we’re really excited about it.

William: My name is Wiliam Portales. Just another day at NorthStar, packing the house. Right now, we’re packing the kitchen. We’re almost done. This is the hard part, packing the kitchen.

Benjamin: My name is Benjamin Sandoval, and my role is being a helper, and packing up all this stuff as safe as I can. Today we’re just doing a packing day, which is to get it all ready for the move, So it will be nice and easy, so nobody will be getting stuck or running into people. Makes it a little easier for the helpers.

William: Yeah, if they want, we’ll do the packing, and next day, do the move.

Paul: So, day two, we’ll be in the house by the day’s end. The guys worked tirelessly moving everything. Boxes after boxes after boxes. There’s no way that we could have done that, Without these five, young, thoroughbred, race-horse movers, that just powered through it. They’re going stronger than ever man, it’s incredible.

Celia: We’re moving, because we want to downsize, The timing is right, our oldest daughter just graduated from high school, and we don’t have to stay within this district anymore, since my other daughter, the younger one, is going to a different high school. And it just seems like The right time to downsize and save on costs a little bit.

Jacqui: The new house has a really nice backyard, and I’m really excited about it. And I have my own room, and it’s like, ten times bigger than this room. Cause I have too many things to fit in this room, and, it’s not working out anymore as I get older.

Paul: By moving, One of the things we really want to accomplish, is to shrink our expenses, you know, bring our expenses down. Especially because we have a child in college now, too, and all that. And, to do this house, knowing that we’re moving, too, I mean, because we don’t see this as a retirement home. It’s just too big. So, knowing that we’re moving as well, we wanted to get something that was more move-in ready. And, we wanted a bigger backyard. Because the backyard now, if you noticed, is pretty small. So we wanted something that was a little bit more spacious, a little less cost, and was more updated. Without us having to spend a year, or six months, whatever it would be, and God knows how much money.

Yeah, it’s been a full three days, you know, 8am to whenever we wrap. But basically didn’t lift a finger. And, I think we would have just gotten in the way if we did, actually, because they were just like a well-oiled machine: very impressive, very grateful, and look at me, even so, I’m still droopy eyed, you know, I don’t have any reason to be, but they’re going stronger than ever, man, it’s incredible.

Celia: Everybody was very professional, and friendly, and mindful, which I really appreciated. Given how little time we had to basically pack a house, And move it, and unpack, and… Especially because we knew we had a short period of time, and we had to go back to work, and kind of go on with, you know, our lives. So, we still have a little bit of unpacking to do, details, and stuff like that, but you know, that’s going to take time to go through some other boxes. But, we’re very happy.

Truck: (Horn Honks)

Paul: Alright, I’m just gonna stop there.  Are you going to put that part in?

Eric: Oh yeah, probably

Paul: Really? Seriously? You can’t put that in!

Celia: Then stop saying it!

Paul: Alright.
