Great moving company. They not only sent a guy to our place in SF to estimate the cost of our move to LA (the only company to do so BTW), they stuck by the estimate and even gave us a couple discounts. The movers did a good job as well and the main office kept double-checking to see if there were any lost or damaged items – we’ll be using them again!
I have used NorthStar in the past and we decided to use them to move our 3 bedroom home during our remodel. The workers moved us to our apartment on day 1, then moved the remaining items for storage on day 2. The guys were on time, wrapped our entire kitchen, didn’t break or scuff one item and did it in record time. On top of that, the guys were very friendly and asked a ton of questions to make sure the move went the way we wanted. We had a team that was headed by “Nick”- I highly recommend the team.
We recently moved from San Francisco to LA and had North Star help us with both packing and moving.  The service was great, move-out team was efficient, and everything arrived safe and sound in Manhattan Beach only a few days later.  The move-in team was equally efficient, plus they helped unwrap and set-up the furniture.  Thanks to North Star’s great service and rates, I highly doubt we’ll ever move without their help again.
THEY ARE AMAZING!!! Every person I dealt with – receptionist, dude who did the estimate, movers, claims manager –  has been nothing but nice and professional.  I hate moving but they made it so easy for me.  The guy who did our estimate, Gil, was on time. He gave us an estimate and , lo and behold, come moving day, that was exactly what we paid. NO HIDDEN FEES! Can you believe that?! Kudos to the movers too. They were efficient and did a pretty good job packing our stuff.
Over all, everything went so well. Just had one minor gaffe but the claims department  (Wendy) has been so accommodating and just extremely super.

I moved with NorthStar this summer and interviewed about four other companies before settling on them. They came in with a fair price–much lower than one of the companies–but reasonable. When it came to how they handled the move–as well as the move itself–they were amazing–especially on the front end of the move and, especially, when there were some small complications on the backend. First off, they know what they’re doing. Almost all of my stuff got across the country in one piece–and I truly believe no moves can be perfect. But more than that, the service was impeccable. I mean really impeccable. I had to put a claim in as some walls got damaged by my bigger pieces on a small staircase. They approved it on the spot. No stress. I had to file the paper work–which was easy in itself. But I had just moved–so my printer wasn’t hooked up and my office staff had some crisis and it was hard to keep all the balls in the air. So they mailed me a self-addressed envelope. Then I just got busy on a new job and filing this wasn’t on the top of my agenda. But though I was the one making the claim–that is, they were going to cut me a check–they called me once a week to remind me to get it in. I’ve never seen anything like it. The service was beyond professional, beyond courteous, beyond helpful. I couldn’t have better things to say. I hope I never move again–but if I do, I would pick up the phone to call Northstar in a heartbeat.
I was very pleased with the quality of service of my move with Northstar. I called them on a whim when I got transferred to California to Florida and they had someone there within 24 hours to give me an estimate and my things arrived in Florida a week later. They couldn’t have been more helpful. Also, their quote was almost 1/3 less than anything else I received. This was my second move across the country in the past two years and my items were handled with care and communication was excellent between North Star and and the truck driver. I would highly recommend Northstar to anyone looking for a mover, whether local or across the country.
I chose NorthStar Moving Company to help me move from my old apartment to the one in which I am currently residing, and they were great. In fact, when I need to move again in the future (due to present circumstances, that is looking like in a year from now), I will be hiring them again. The movers were careful and polite, and they were surprisingly prompt. They arrived early in the morning exactly when they were scheduled, and they finished the move in the minimum time required. While other movers sometimes dawdle the actual transportation process in order to increase the amount of hours worked, my movers finished in just over three hours (which I would consider the bare minimum required to complete a move like mine), saving me time and expense. I wholeheartedly recommend NorthStar. If you call them to arrange a move, let Stefy know on the phone that she totally rocks.

Everything went wonderfully with my mother’s recent move from Southern California to the Puget Sound area in Washington state, thanks to the expert support we had from NorthStar (especially from Ron, who went out to my mother’s house and drew up her “not to exceed” quote and paperwork -as well as- the team of highly professional movers working at both the origin and destination locations).
