Lynn at NorthStar moving helped me get together a move to TEXAS including my car (using a different service) FOR THE SAME DAY!!! It was extremely smooth the whole way and the movers actually arrived at my new address in Texas at the perfect time when i was actually getting my keys. THANK YOU!!

I have never written a yelp review before, but my experience with North Star Moving was worth sharing.  I recently moved from the San Francisco Bay Area to Virginia and North Star was awesome.  Jason and his team on the SF end wrapped my Ikea furniture like it was being shipped to Buckingham Palace.  They were on-time, courteous and answered all my questions.  On the Virginia end, Santiago and Angel did an excellent job unloading my belongings into my storage space.  I couldn’t have asked for a better cross-country moving experience.  Everyone knows someone who has a horror-story related to moving and I am so glad I went with North Star.  I chose them because they had the highest yelp rating and that was the right decision!  They may not have been the cheapest cross-country movers I could find, but it was worth every penny to have everything delivered safely and on-time, and within the cost of the estimate they gave me.  I’d recommend them to any of my friends!! And I did use the yelp deal for a $90 savings!

I had a big move to make in a short time way up and halfway across the country for a really important job, transplanting me quickly from LA to Minneapolis. And I had to plan all this a bit more than a month in advance, just on the cusp of my leaving the country for a month. Needless to say, I was really anxious and short on time. So I couldn’t have been luckier than I was when I connected with Ron Cohen at North Star. In a mere couple of days after I first called him, Ron came over to give me an estimate that was a thousand dollars less than those supplied by local representatives from NorthStar’s competitors. Though NorthStar’s movers themselves averaged somewhere in the middle in terms of packing and unloading quality, they were quicker than usual, and arrived earlier than I expected! Best of all, if I had any questions or concerns during the actual process of picking up and delivering my things, Ron was super responsive to my texts and calls. As a person who moves nearly once a year, I can say with confidence that the level of trust and integrity Ron embodies is a real rarity in this business. To wit, he even checked in with me a few weeks later, to make sure I was satisfied. I recommend reaching out to him if you have a move in your near future.

I just moved long distance, from Los Angeles to Providence, RI (nearly as long distance as you can get within the US). As you might expect, I was extremely nervous about an undertaking of this magnitude. Well, having hired NorthStar, I needn’t have worried. The entire moving process was flawless. Alan came out to my place to give me an estimate, which was extremely accurate. There was a bit of a hiccup with the movers arriving but Alan took complete control of the situation and made sure things came out the right way. The moving team was prompt, efficient, professional, polite, and pleasant. On the Providence end, again, movers were prompt, professional, and courteous. Wendy also helped me and was thorough, thoughtful, and extremely helpful. I would absolutely hire NorthStar again, in a heartbeat. They were outstanding and really took the stress out of one of the most stressful things one can undertake.

I had used NorthStar over a year ago to move into my current residence and had a great experience. I had contacted them at the last minute for an emergency move and they were able to come first thing the next morning. They did an entire full-service pack and move in about 10 hours (that time was to pack up everything at one location, drove it down the street and unloaded it into the new location).

Unfortunately, we now have to move across the country and contacted them again because our first experience was flawless. On each occasion that I have had to call, I have spoken with Stefy and she has been a blessing and so NICE to speak to. I met with Alan today to get a walk-through onsite estimate for the move and couldn’t be happier with his attitude and professionalism. Moving is such a stressful ordeal, but he was able to answer all of my questions and put my mind at ease. I definitely recommend speaking with Alan when getting an onsite estimate done.

Moving is among the most nerve wrecking things for most people and my nerves were definitely frazzled during my recent move from Los Angeles to Ann Arbor.  After contacting over 20 companies, I went with NorthStar with a bit of hesitation because despite their excellent rating, most of the reviews were for local moves.  Luckily for me, I could not have asked for a better experience.  Every contact I had with someone at NorthStar was excellent.  Be it Ron who did the estimate, or customer service via phone, or the guys who picked up my stuff and the ones who delivered my stuff, the communication and service were thorough, quick, and professional.  I honestly cannot think of anything they could have done better.  Oh, and their rate is very competitive too.

Great job from pick up to delivery! Customer service and moving crew were outstanding–very efficient and professional. I have shared my experience with my colleagues who are also planning cross-country moves. I know they will not be disappointed.

NorthStar did a fantastic job on our cross-country move, which involved moving all our worldly possessions from Santa Monica to Austin.  Every single person I interacted with at the company was friendly, polite, and helpful.  Our moving logistics were handled by Ron, who was good-humored, accommodating, and always very quick to respond my questions via e-mail.  He came over to take a look at the items we were moving, and was very clear about how to prepare for the move as well as what limitations they had (no liquids that were unsealed/open, like my multi-gallon containers of soy sauce).

On moving day, a team of four movers showed up on time and completed the job in about 6.5 hours. They were quick, efficient, courteous, and hard-working.  Just as importantly, they were very careful about protecting our stuff, ensuring that each and every item was adequately protected.   We especially appreciated the care given to our 3D printer.

The move itself was pretty organized.  We had something like 111 boxes/items, and they kept everything numbered and notated so that when those 111 boxes showed up at my new house in Austin four days later, I knew where each of them went.

We truly appreciated the hard work of everyone at Northstar who was involved in our big move, and would recommend them without hesitation.
