I absolutely loved these guys and the job thy did. Everything went perfectly from the scheduling to the arrival time to the completion. And I even got an extra guy for free because i booked in the afternoon and they had a guy on board from an earlier job. Couldn’t recommend them highly enough.

I have used NorthStar twice since 2009. They are an amazing, efficient, and professional company. 1st Move: In Summer of ’09, I had to go, unexpectedly, out-of-town on the same weekend my wife and I were to move apartments. Normally we move ourselves by renting a U-Haul, but this would be too burdensome with just one of us. So we checked out NorthStar and they gave us a rate that we thought was high – around $109/hr – but we were assured great service. Sure enough, it was the best idea yet. My wife called me (I was in Atlanta the morning of the move) and told me the movers packed and unloaded everything within 4 hours. She said the three workers moved so fast that she barely had the time to do a final “check” of the apartment. Because her experience was so good, we decided to hire them again in March of 2012 for our move form the Valley to the Westside. No last minute getaways for me this time around, so I was able to see how fast these guys work firsthand. We hired them for a Friday morning move – roughly 9am – and they packed, drove, and unloaded eveything by 2pm. These guys were tough, carrying heavy pieces of furniture up stair cases without pause or complaint. With tip, the move cost us around $700, but it is worth every cent. I didn’t throw out my back, I didn’t have to return a run-down U-Haul, and we were able to get the house in order before the weekend was through. I will always go with NorthStar for future moves. I moved in a new construction condo, and they had ridiculously complicated moving regulations. NorthStart was one of their preferred movers and after getting a quote, I decided to work with them. The Yelp discount deal also helped me to make a call. 

From 1br to 1br, within a city. They sent a working manager with two staffs. Working very hard and fast, and efficient. The whole moving time took around 5 hrs, but probably we wasted one hours for covering up all the hall ways, which was one of moving regulations. Above all things, they were super friendly with smiles and have awesome customer service 🙂

What can I say? I utilized this company again and once again, their handling of my relocation was First Class. Not only did Tony, Carl, and Jose arrive on time, and didn’t have to relocate very far, communications were excellent … every question and concern was addressed immediately … they always asked where they should place anything and everything … they delivered my goods in excellent condition … they totally completed my move with ease, professionalism, carefulness, and courtesy. Although I hope to never move again, I wouldn’t use anyone other than NorthStar. Thanks a million yet again Tony (as he assisted on my last move). Perfect score and very highly recommended…

Moving during the holidays is as crappy as it gets. We were trying our best to get our apartment packed while still taking time to give our 2-year-old daughter some form of christmas. Come moving day, we were still in chaos. I asked NorthStar’s Jason if this was the worst he’d seen. He shook his head and said “this is nothing.” He, James and Bedo dealt with our mess (including a piano) quickly and in good humor. I can’t recommend NorthStar enough. They came on time, handled the job expertly and actually took time to engage with us. Our best to Jason, James, Bedo and Jason’s sweet daughter Serenity. Thanks to all. Happy New Year!

Accommodated our just-before-Christmas move with about 3 weeks’ notice. Showed up earlier than promised. Did not complain about moving stuff in light rain. Did not complain about moving heavy washer/dryer from a 2nd floor location of the old house to a 2nd floor location at the new house. Wrapped furniture carefully. Sent an extra guy because one of the movers was feeling sick. All in all, no complaints.

We checked out two moving companies and Northstar offered the best service and price for the job. Ron was our contact person and came out and gave us our estimate. He did a great job in outlining all the details and how things would go. Everything went so well, just as he had said. The moving crew worked so well together, they were quick and careful with our belongings. The move came in under the estimate, which we greatly appreciated. I hope we don’t move again, but if we do, Northstar will be the one we’ll use.

The bad news: I had to move twice twice this year. The good news: I used Northstar Moving twice this year. After a great experience with Northstar in June, it was a no-brainer which company I’d call in December to help again. Moving still sucks, but with Northstar, I don’t have to worry about the heavy stuff, protecting furniture, transportation, or loading/unloading everything. * Get the Yelp Deal: $50 for $125 of service. * Hourly rate for 3-man crew was $115/hr (3 hr min + 30 min drive time min) * Service on the phone was quick and easy. Email confirmation even easier. * Box up as much as you can before they arrive to speed things up. * Wardrobe boxes are provided free. So wait for most of the clothes on hangers * Tape & Shrinkwrap isn’t free or very expensive. NorthStar charged about $45. * The crew brought plenty of packing blankets to protect all the furniture. * They take care of taking apart and putting back together beds, tables, etc. * Biggest tip: Donate or give way a bunch of stuff you don’t use to save time/space. * Giving water and tipping was worth it because the guys were fast & efficient. * 3% discount for Cash, but cards are accepted. * Our move time was 5 hours 30 minutes. I can’t imagine it being any faster or easier. Hopefully, we won’t be moving anytime soon, however, if we do, I’ll be calling Northstar Moving again.
