Northstar was awesome! Highly recommend them. They were responsive and reached out throughout the process, arrived promptly, finished quickly, and were upfront about costs. My team was Gerardo, Jose and Rene, and they were awesome. Only downside is that I didn’t know whether to tip and didn’t have cash on hand at the time – not sure if this was included or not! Highly recommend and will use again.

I was told my movers would show up between 8am and 11am, they gave me a call at 7:30am and told me they were on their way and they arrived by 7:45am.  Fantastic.  The three men who helped me move did all the necessary work swiftly and carefully.  They were also extremely friendly to talk to.

NorthStar also checked in at every step of the process to make sure the move went smoothly.  It is easy to find a moving company in SF – tough to find a good one.  This is a good one.

The only downside for me personally was that I live alone and having 3 movers may have been excessive for me (they have a minimum of 3 movers help you).  The cost, however, was still comparable to a smaller moving company with fewer men, so it wasn’t like I had to pay for frivolous services.

**Note** have some cash on hand to tip your movers!  They won’t bring it up at all that you can tip them, but you can and they work hard.  I wish I had realized that and had more cash at the ready (downside of an all plastic payment lifestyle).
Great experience here, def. took the time to care my furniture. Pricing fits what you get.

I have used NorthStar twice. Once in a long distance move from Los Angeles to San Francisco and once from San Francisco to Oakland. Both times Stefy was very useful in helping determine how much help I would need as well as what I could do to help out the movers. For my first move, the moving team was willing to work around my schedule, which meant moving me in to my new apartment at 11:00 PM in the rain. Both moves were fast and everything was delivered in perfect condition. The moving team moved all my furniture into the right place and made sure I knew exactly what was happening every step of the way. I will continue using NorthStar in the future as well as recommending them to all my friends.

I’m very impressed by NorthStar. This is the second time I’ve used them, and very solid experiences both times. The first move was almost 8 years ago  and they were as good if not better than what I remembered. My team of three movers was on time. They moved swiftly and with care. They also were extremely polite and personable young men — an added bonus. A week later, my fiance was moving but we called NorthStar too late for them to fit us in for a move on a weekend day. We used a different company and it was such a different experience. While those men also were professional and got the job done, their pace was significantly slower. Thus, NorthStar also proved to be a good move economically. I’m a pretty fussy consumer, and these folks really proved themselves worthy of a strong review.
I had an amazing experience with NorthStar Movers.  I had Ron Cohen, the relocation specialist come to my apartment to evaluate my items and how long it would take the movers and he did an excellent job.  I highly recommend having someone come to your location and give you an idea of how long it will take so they can provide you with a flat rate.  I had never moved this amount of stuff before and I was so nervous and unsure of what to expect.  Ron was very patient, answered all my questions and was readily available throughout the week to answer any questions I had.  Ask for Ron if you can, he relieved so much of my stress!  And he gave me three of the best movers I could imagine.  They were respectful of my items and very polite to me.  I’m so glad I found them and will 100% use them again!
We had a crew of three–Jason, Sal, and Rene–move us from our spot in Larkspur down to the Peninsula.  They actually showed up 15 minutes early, which gave me time for paperwork and to show them what had to go, and then they got to moving!

A couple tips:
-Everything should go in a box.  If it’s a loose article, small bag, small box, etc, they’ll throw it in a large wardrobe box for the move.  If it’s moving, box it up!
-They wrap all the furniture.  If it’s nice furniture, that’s great!  Since it take a bit of time, though, just point out what doesn’t need to be wrapped.
-If it’s going into storage, make sure you’re crystal clear.  A couple of items that were going to a storage unit were packed away in the back, but the guys were super-accommodating about digging it out.

Overall, a great experience.  They make great time in a 26-foot truck.  The Yelp deal was awesome.  Recommended!
This company helped me move over 6 months ago, and I feel guilty for taking so long to write this review because they were incredible. However, if I remembered to write this review so long after hiring them, then that tells you their service was unforgettably good. These guys were very polite and professional, and they charged me the price they quoted, no surprise fees. NorthStar was awesome!
