We had a crew of three–Jason, Sal, and Rene–move us from our spot in Larkspur down to the Peninsula.  They actually showed up 15 minutes early, which gave me time for paperwork and to show them what had to go, and then they got to moving!

A couple tips:
-Everything should go in a box.  If it’s a loose article, small bag, small box, etc, they’ll throw it in a large wardrobe box for the move.  If it’s moving, box it up!
-They wrap all the furniture.  If it’s nice furniture, that’s great!  Since it take a bit of time, though, just point out what doesn’t need to be wrapped.
-If it’s going into storage, make sure you’re crystal clear.  A couple of items that were going to a storage unit were packed away in the back, but the guys were super-accommodating about digging it out.

Overall, a great experience.  They make great time in a 26-foot truck.  The Yelp deal was awesome.  Recommended!
This company helped me move over 6 months ago, and I feel guilty for taking so long to write this review because they were incredible. However, if I remembered to write this review so long after hiring them, then that tells you their service was unforgettably good. These guys were very polite and professional, and they charged me the price they quoted, no surprise fees. NorthStar was awesome!
I love NorthStar. They’ve moved us 3 times in town and they’ve been great every time. The guys are quick, courteous, and friendly. They’re very careful with our stuff and always ask where it should go before setting it down when we get to our destination.

$115/hour for 3 guys and a truck, it’s a pretty great deal.
Fantastic! I’ve moved many times but have never had such a great group to work with. I had a local move and my new house has a terrible, winding steep driveway.  The truck couldn’t get up the driveway so they carried everything up. It was July 1, the hottest day of the year. The guys just dealt with it, smiled and kept asking if there was anything else they could do for me. They were kind, hard working and so very friendly. They never stopped moving – and fast! I can’t recommend them more.
We used NorthStar Moving Company for our daughters move the first of June 2013 – This is a a well, run and efficient company. The staff is very professional and customers are well taken care of. Stefy Nudel was our point of contact and followed up a few days before the scheduled move to confirm we were all on track with the move, this was a nice touch. . The movers came on time and the move went smooth from beginning to end.
Great moving company. Omar and his crew were professional, courteous, and efficient. My wife is pregnant and they made sure to set up our couch first at the new place so she has a place to sit. Highly recommended.
This was my first time using ANY movers, so I’m thrilled to report that it was a terrific experience.

Hector, Jose, and Jacito arrived at 8 a.m. sharp (had been scheduled to arrive between 8 and 10, and I had specially requested they come as close to 8 as possible). They immediately started putting everything into the truck almost at a run! Packing and loading took a fair amount of time, but it was done efficiently and without issues.

Unfortunately when we arrived at our destination, the building elevator that I had reserved was completely shut down, the basement/ramped entrance that led to the elevator bank was blocked by maintenance workers and empty dumpsters. Instead of stopping, the guys decided to take the stairs(!) for most everything we owned, and kept up the fast pace!

I want to specifically call out Hector, who took our 4 drawer, HEAVY file cabinet up three flights of stairs BY HIMSELF and kept a huge smile on his face the whole time. This guy was superman! I asked him if he was tired at one point (and offered some pizza and water) and he declined, saying, “I love this – It makes me feel like I’m working!”

*Amazing!*

(And they all did pretty amazing things with packing tape – who knew?)

Although the move took longer than expected due to issues at the property (don’t worry, I’ll be reimbursed), the entire process would have been ten times longer and more frustrating if I had done it myself.

All three, Jacito (great manager!), Jose (efficient and a solid player), and Hector (superman!) were INCREDIBLE. I would definitely use them again. Thanks
NorthStar Moving Company was professional from the first call to the last goodbye. When I booked my date Ted took all my information and suggested the appropriate size truck and number of crew members to make my move as smooth as possible. The day before the move the office called me to reconfirm the time and addresses. The moving crew called me the morning of my move to let me know they ran into traffic and would be a few minutes late. They arrived 5 minutes after the appointed time which is on time in morning rush hour traffic. The moving crew was fast, courteous, and I’m embarrassed to say, they treated my furniture better than I do. They had me moved into my new place in record time. My furniture was placed exactly where I wanted it. All I have to do is unpack boxes. I can’t believe I thought I could get a couple of guys from work and rent a truck, or worse hiring some guy with a truck advertising on that well known online site. I will use NorthStar again and recommend them to anyone I know who is moving. They are the best. Thank you again to everyone at NorthStar who made my move stress free.
Took me a while to write this review, first time yelper here. These guys were great, from the phone call getting the quote to the timeliness of the movers, they even put my new table and chairs together for me. Totally worth the price, and they had a great yelp deal going on at the time. Five stars all the way!
Was a great company to work with.  Super responsive over email, helped figure out requirements with hoa, guys who showed up to do the move were awesome and really working hard.  Would recommend thinking about the parking situation more than a few days before the move day if you live in the city.  I got stuck thinking about it too late, didn’t set up anything official, and spent some time stressing about how the truck would have to double park kind of in a bus lane. It all worked out fine in the end though.
