David, Arturo and Steven just helped our office with moving a truck load of storage into our storage unit and did a great job. They were extremely careful with our fragile objects and got everything moved in less than 3 hours. I highly recommend North Star Movers!
Local Move
Second time using North Star. Lived up to my expectations once again. Crew of 3 moved my 2 bed apartment into another 2 bed a couple of miles away. The guys were polite, moved quickly and responded to my requests with no questions. The pick up was straight forward. The drop off not so much. They had to park the truck a long way away from the apartment. I felt terrible. I know its there job but its back breaking work. Not one complaint from any of them. I plied them with soda, water and snacks to make myself feel better! Amazing job. Moving is exhausting but North Star really make it look easy. Thank you!
These movers were great! Efficient, timely, and very nice! They were a great help in my move from Sherman oaks to burbank, and I could not recommend them more highly!
LA is getting too expensive. I had to put my 2 bedroom home into storage and get out of town for a while. I used guys from in front of uhaul. My mistake. They broke several of my prized processions. Irreplaceable antiques.
Friends told me about North Star and helped me get them to move from my storage unit to my new home.
They were worth every penny.
The guys were nice and very efficient. It was hot out and they had to carry heavy stuff up stairs. Not one complaint. They hustled and were really pleasant.
You would be happy to have employees like these guys.
Thank you so much.

Two moves with North Star and it was smooth sailing. Most recently with Danny H, George A and Jimmy H and they were detailed and went above and beyond with service and extra help (disconnecting things for me, etc). I’d definitely use them next time. I’ve moved a bunch of times with the big moving companies, and this company is one of the best I’ve worked with. It’s all hourly but they are efficient and honest.

We used North Star to move our family of four into our new home. They were excellent. I literally can’t find a single negative. The experience was entirely pleasant from getting a quote from Ron (very reasonable) to all the guys who moved us (Manuel, Ramiro, William, Rafael, Hector). They showed up on the early end of their window, and worked very quickly and carefully. Furniture was all wrapped well, as were all our valuables (they packed up the kitchen). They dealt with an annoying street closure, and a locked gate without getting annoyed, were very nice to my kids, and all in all it was as good an experience as moving can be!
Just had Northstar move my studio again. This is our eighth move with them and they always do a great job! Fred, Josh, Chris K, Wilbur, Steve, Lloyd, Jorge M and Sammy made it all seem effortless. Thanks again!
This was a slightly bumpy ride that all turned out well in the end, thanks to truly exceptional customer service from NorthStar Movers’ headquarters.
Before I get into the details of my experience, the main takeaway here is that you should not hesitate to tell the crew manager if you’re unhappy and/or call the main office, who assured me that they take customer feedback so seriously they will even send out a new moving crew, mid-move, if you’re not thrilled with your current team.
While I wasn’t unhappy with my team (I certainly wouldn’t have swapped them out for a new crew!), I wasn’t blown away by them either. Although my movers were super nice and careful, I did have to point out things they had not yet packed — entire cupboards and drawers — and I found a few things in the house at the last minute, before they pulled away from my old address, which I managed to sneak into the back of the truck just before they closed the door.
Somehow a couple of things also went missing, I discovered as I was unpacking — nothing of great monetary value, just things with sentimental value to me. Once I discovered the missing items a few days later and called them, NorthStar managed to track down my misplaced garden statue, which had been left on the truck, and generously compensated me for the other two missing things: a winter coat and a back massager.
I told them at that time, while I had someone from customer service on the phone, that I had been unimpressed by the general “hustle” of the team, which wasn’t as drill-sergeant-ready as some crews I’ve used in the past, who have a super clear system and assembly line-esque matrix in place. I also mentioned that I felt the crew did a somewhat illogical packing job, in places, which I discovered as I was unpacking. For example, the components of a stand mixer from the kitchen was somehow packed in two (or maybe three) different boxes. This made unpacking and putting things away pretty annoying at times.
But NorthStar also compensated me for an hour of move time, since I was unhappy with the overall speed of the move, and told me that they’re always happy to give you a “not to exceed” price or flat rate, if you call an estimator to come by before your move. That way, you never pay for the crew’s slowness — they do. This was great advice, which I will definitely use moving forward.
So, all in all, NorthStar Movers is an imperfect moving company (like all of them) that really cares, and I trust a company that takes your feedback so seriously that they do everything possible to make you happy in the end.
