I used Northstsr to move from Pasadena to the Bay Area and had a great experience. Northstar was very easy to work with, communicating by email and phone. The day of the move the team arrived right on time and did a great job packing all the stuff in our apartment. I could tell the care they used to pack up our valuables. They spent about 8 hours packing or 2 bedroom apartment. Delivery was five days later and right on schedule. The team helped to reassemble our furniture and made sure we were satisfied. These guys are amazing. Quote was accurate, no nickle and diming later. Explained all the charges and were clear how I could save money…. didn’t try to oversell extra insurance. I got 2 other quotes (from 1 small and 1 large company) and these guys beat them both by $800.
The guys who picked up were on time… very professional, clean, and worked their asses off taking apart all my furniture (and we have a lot), carrying down 3 flights of stairs – fast and cheerfully.
Excellent customer service. We needed extra fast delivery…. infant was going ballistic about being in an empty new apartment. Cesar bent over backwards to beat their original est delivery date.

I had the monumental task of finding a reputable, full service moving and storage company for my boss and his family. Their current, 4 floor home is being renovated and EVERYTHING has to be removed. I found NorthStar based on their great reviews, mostly being on yelp. Right away I was contacted by the project manager Ron Cohen, who has just been fantastic! He has been easily accessible anytime I have a question or need help with something else pertaining to the move. He has patiently re-adjusted the bid as items have been added and dates have been constantly changing. This is a complicated move, in my eyes and he is really making it so much simpler and easing my fears! He has helped me find third party companies that I need to de-mantle and un-mount appliances, furniture, etc. He brought to light issues that never would have occurred to me on my own. He had his guys send over boxes so my boss and his family can pack a bit ahead. Then NorthStar will come and finish the rest of the packing as well as provide storage for the duration of the renovation. I feel very confident in the job getting done safely and on time! After researching numerous moving companies for my move from SF to LA, I decided to go with North Star and I have absolutely no regrets!
North Star’s rates are great and the crew is super customer oriented. We had to make a last minute change to our move date and North Star was able to change the date with less than a week of notice. The crew packed all our items up so quickly without sacrificing quality and were in and out within an hour. Hannes was leading the pick up and explained the moving process to us very thoroughly.
Gret service from a professional, courteous team..Diego, Julio and Tovia who had to drlive the large truck up a narrow dead end, load and then back down again. They were fast and efficient and I would not hesitate to recommend. This job involved bringing items to theisr Hayward storage facility
for moving later cross country.
This was my first time ever using a moving company. I would definitely recommend North Star to anyone making a move in this city. Michael and his crew were impressively efficient, professional, and friendly. Nothing was damaged and we were moved from our one bed in soma to our 2 bed in Richmond within 5 hours.
Moving sucks, but Northstar made it as fantastic of an experience as it could be. We moved from San Francisco to NYC and from the beginning Northstar was
friendly, communicative, prompt, considerate of our things and all in all amazing. We moved 5100 lbs of stuff, a lot of it easy to scratch, break and destroy Ikea
furniture. Not one thing arrived broken or even blemished. Seriously! Further, EVERYTHING came. We had tons of individual, non-boxed items that I thought for
sure would get lost. Nope. Every single thing, from guitars to individual ski poles arrived. Also, both the guys who picked up our stuff and the guys who dropped
our stuff off were awesome. Hard workers, fast and considerate.
Northstar even work with our travel schedule to ensure that our items would be delivered after we arrived from a lengthy road trip. Although the delivery window
they quoted was long (we were thinking it would arrive late Feb), it showed up Feb 12, ten days before we thought it would.
Last summer my parents made the move from NYC to San Francisco and used North American Van Lines. HORRIBLE. Never communicated with them, took a
month to get the stuff, destroyed expensive furniture and the guys who did the delivery were jerks.
Needless to say, we were nervous for this move after their experience, but I could not recommend NorthStar more.
NorthStar helped me move from LA to SF so this is for the LA part of the move. Everyone was super friendly and helpful, from Beatriz who initially explained how everything works, to Alan who came out to my place for the moving estimate, to Rebecca who followed up with me the day before the move, and the three amazing movers that worked so hard to make sure that my furniture is all nicely wrapped and packaged so they wouldn’t break during the transport. They were super fast, very professional and friendly, and made it such an easy process for me. The only thing is that there may have been some miscommunication between the dispatch people. I was not contacted for delivery until almost 5pm the day before. I called several times to get an update and was given a different expected delivery date every time. And on the delivery date, the movers called to let me know that they’d deliver at 10:30am, which is different from the noon to 4pm window that I was given. But these guys were super flexible and we were able to reschedule the delivery to a later time and everything worked out great! Thank you!
