Each year the Los Angeles Business Journal makes a list of the 100 largest women-owned L.A. County-based businesses, ranked by revenues. NorthStar Moving Company was ranked #55 on the list!

When the housing bust hit in 2007, NorthStar Moving [..] did what any struggling business would do:  It offered customers doggie day care […] and home-cooked meals. OK. Not every company would offer such amenities, but the Chatsworth outfit is not ordinary.  The high-end mover offered a “Red Carpet” service in which customers don’t lift a finger and it does work for Hollywood productions, including setting up the mansion for the ABC reality TV  series “The Bachelor”.

 

This award honors business women in Los Angeles who are great leaders and have done exceptional work with the community. Laura McHolm, co-founder and director of marketing, NorthStar Moving Company, was selected as a finalist for this award for her dedication to meeting the highest standards for service and integrity in her relationships with customers, employees, and the community.

In 2011 the Los Angeles Business Journal included NorthStar Moving in their annual Best Place to Work list. This is an excerpt from the article in the Los Angeles Business Journal about all nominees.

In 2011 Laura McHolm, co-founder and director of marketing, for NorthStar Moving Company, was nominated for the “Business Owner of the Year Award” for the Women Making a Difference Awards her work with Claire’s Place Foundation. Claire’s Place Foundation is a nonprofit organization supporting families living with cystic fibrosis. This work added to NorthStar Moving Company’s support of the Clothes Off Our Back.
