Laura McHolm has dedicated over a decade of her life to advancing the mission of Claire’s Place Foundation, a nonprofit pro­viding support to individuals, children and families affected by cystic fibrosis. She joined Claire’s Place as a founding board member and now serves as chairman of the board of directors. Through countless hours donated by McHolm and her marketing team, the foundation has garnered national media attention, including features in Glamour Magazine and on CNN.
McHolm and her company, NorthStar Moving, have recently stepped up to support victims of the devastating LA wildfires. In the past few weeks, the company has donat­ed trucks and drivers to assist nonprofits in transporting large donations of essential supplies to those impacted by the fires.

This prestigious honor celebrates individuals and organizations dedicated to making a meaningful impact in our communities.

The 2024 Women’s Leadership Symposium & Awards was held on September 5, 2024.
The Los Angeles Business Journal posted a special supplement with the event summary which featured the finalists in all categories, including NorthStar Moving’s Co-Founder and Director of Marketing, Laura McHolm who was a finalist in the Community Impact Advocate category.

Every day is an adventure for Laura McHolm of NorthStar Moving and she thrives off of it because she is reinventing a traditionally male industry and making moving kinder. Her steadfast commitment to corporate citizenship is changing the moving industry through charitable contributions. McHolm firmly believes that running a moving business means a lot more than lifting things it’s about lifting up the community. The Los Angeles Business Journal held its annual Women’s Leadership Awards on Thursday, June 13th, honoring and celebrating women business leaders in the Los Angeles community. NorthStar Moving’s Director of Marketing and Co-Founder, Laura McHolm was among the nominees this year as well.

The 2024 Nonprofit & Corporate Citizenship Awards was be held on May 15th, 2024, honoring the contributions of the nonprofit community along with the corporate citizens and businesses that support them by donating their time, funds, and efforts to improve the Los Angeles communities they serve. NorthStar Moving Director of Marketing and Co-Founder Laura McHolm was among the individual nominees.
