People Who Move Us: Claire Wineland – The Founder Of Claire’s Place Foundation

As a leading moving company we are moving people every day, and we feel privileged to be the hero on our client’s moving day. However, there are many unsung heroes who are making a difference each day in the world. This new series “People that move us” will shine a light each month on an inspiring person that moves us to get involved and make a difference.

In honor of National Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month, our first honoree is someone who is making great strides in raising awareness for Cystic Fibrosis on both a national and global level. Claire Wineland is living her best life and moving us to do the same.

Claire Wineland moves us

Having lived with CF her entire life, Claire, has become an inspiration for people living with this disease. When she was 14 she founded a successful 501c3 non-profit organization, Claire’s Place Foundation, to raise awareness of cystic fibrosis. Through countless fundraisers, Claire’s Place Foundation also provides emotional and financial support to children and families affected by cystic fibrosis.

Although she is only just figuring out adult responsibilities like paying taxes or rent, Claire Wineland is already a published author, inspirational speaker and host to many informational videos about cystic fibrosis on her popular Youtube channel #ClarityProject. Having survived 20 surgeries, recurring hospital stays, months in a coma, she is wise beyond her years. Rather than focusing on having 40% of ideal lung function or a shorter life expectancy, Claire’s positivity allows her to live a life of meaning and full of joy. Claire has said, I know my life will be shorter so every day has meaning.” Claire moves us to make each day count.

In honor of CF Awareness Month, please consider making a small commitment to get involved. The following are 3 ways you can make an impact in May:

  1. Support a Fundraiser.
  2. Join Claire at TEDx Cardiff by the Sea.
  3. Become a monthly Donor.

Learn more about Claire and spread the word about her #clarityproject.
