Toluca Lake is a beautiful neighborhood, close to Burbank and Hollywood. Whether you are in show business, or just want to be closer to the stars, Toluca Lake is the place to be!
Where to Eat in Toluca Lake
There are a ton of amazing places to go eat in Toluca Lake, so I’ll just cover a couple of them. If you love sweets as much as I do, look no further than Porto’s in Burbank. This bakery offers a large variety of desserts and other food items that are reasonable priced and absolutely delicious. The location in Burbank is a favorite amongst locals, and impossible to pass up. When I want to eat some vegetarian goodness, I usually head out to Lotus Vegan, which offers a large menu of vegan and vegetarian friendly items. Their Thai food is the best, my personal favorite being their yellow curry with soy chicken.
What to Do in Toluca Lake
While Toluca Lake is primarily a residential area, its close proximity to other cities make it a great spot to see the booming film industry firsthand. Several studios are located right next to the city. If you enjoy studio tours and getting behind the scenes of Hollywood’s biggest movies, this is absolutely the place to be! Warner Bros. Studio is easily accessible from Toluca Lake, as well as Walt Disney. Universal City is also close by, where you can go shopping at Universal City Walk before spending the entire day at Universal Studios. Studios is a bit of a misnomer, as it is also a theme park home to new additions centered around this year’s most popular films.
What to See in Toluca Lake
If you’re wondering where THE Toluca Lake is, the answer is that it is not open to the public. This private lake can be seen from the vista of the Lakeside Golf Club, which is for members only. Fortunately, there is plenty to do outside of the lake. Just a hop, skip and a jump away from the lake is Griffith Park. Griffith Park is home to amazing hiking trails and stunning views of Downtown Los Angeles. You can also take yourself and the kids horseback riding through the equestrian centers.
