Decided last minute that you were going to go with your friend to that Halloween party, but don’t know what to dress up as? Don’t worry, I’ve got your solution right here. Remember that as it gets closer to Halloween, costumes tend to go up in price. Don’t go out spending money on a costume that you’re going to wear for a day. Instead, find something in your closet that will spook people when they see you.

Have that box from the last online order you made and don’t know how to use it? Make a costume out of it. There are plenty of cardboard ideas on the internet. Best part is that you can design it any way you like, and there’s no need to spend serious money. All it’ll take is some time and creativity. Also, by making a cardboard costume, you’re helping the environment by recycling the box.

DIY

The great part about DIY costumes is that most of the items you need to make your costume are in your home. If anything, you might have to spend some money buying accessories or makeup to compliment your costume. Over the past years, some famous DIY costumes have been Audrey Hepburn’s character from Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Where’s Waldo? Even though you’re making a DIY costume, that does not mean you have to make something that’s been made before. That’s the beauty of designing your own unique costume. Be as original as you like and create something that will make you proud.

Recycle an old costume

If you have an old costume that you bought years ago and it’s been collecting dust in your closet, take it out. You can go dressed up as the same character of your costume or change the style of it. For example, if you have a pirate costume, you can change it up a bit by making it into a zombie pirate.  Stain the costume with some artificial blood to give it a scary look. Then, with some Halloween makeup draw your face like a zombie with these tips. You can also trade costumes with your friends. Trade your old ninja costume for your friend’s mummy costume. Not only will you be recycling your costume, but so will your friend.  You’ll get a new costume without spending a dime.
