Hey all you jive turkeys! Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. By now the food has settled and you’re starting to get back into the swing of things. Taking advantage of early holiday shopping deals and preparing for the final stretch of 2014? This year you can get in the holiday spirit with some of my favorite charitable organizations.

Charitable Organizations: Five Acres

This year Five Acres celebrated is 126th anniversary this year. It is one of the oldest charitable organizations and offers several different programs and services for families in need. Their mission is to “provide safety to children who have no homes” and to find permanent homes for all their clients. They’ve served over 100,000 clients through their adoption and foster care programs, therapeutic services, and community support. Holidays aren’t the only time they need your support, you can donate anytime of the year.

Charitable Organizations: Make-A-Wish Foundation

Make-A-Wish Foundation is a wonderful charitable organization to get involved with. For the past 33 years they’ve been granting wishes for children that have been diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses throughout America. They believe that the wish experience can completely change a child’s perspective on life. You can support Make-A-Wish Foundation by donating, fundraising, or sponsoring. Know a child in need, go the extra mile and refer them today!

Charitable Organizations: The Lu Parker Project

Charitable organizations come in all shapes and sizes. One of my favorites is one started fairly recently by broadcast Journalist Lu Parker. The Lu Parker Project seeks to improve the lives of at-risk youth and homeless animals in the Los Angeles Area. Through various community projects and education LPP provides support to animals and people in need. Not only does the Lu Parker Project seek to improve conditions of animals and people, but they also hope to improve environmental conditions as well!

Charitable Organizations: Claire’s Place Foundation, Inc.

Claire's PlaceWe couldn’t have a blog about our favorite charitable organizations without mentioning Claire’s Place Foundation, Inc. As some of you may know, CPF is a non-profit organization that was started to help provide support to families affected by cystic fibrosis. Claire’s Place Foundation has spread awareness about CF through their various community projects, events, and support funds. 2014 has been a great year for them and there’s even more to come next year! Sometimes giving can be a gift in itself, so give the gift that keeps on giving and spread the holiday cheer!
