Are you ready for that great green holiday? St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner. It’s time to break out your green gear, and show your Irish pride! (Even if you aren’t Irish, it’s still fun to go out and celebrate all things Irish on St. Patrick’s Day!) Time to get moving in California and going to some of these fun green St. Patrick’s Day events!
When it comes to St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, no one does it quite like Dublin, CA, the most Irish town in California. The St. Patrick’s Day celebrations is a full weekend event with a St. Patrick’s Day Festival on March 16-17, a Green and White Gala on March 16, a green pancake breakfast on March 17, and a 5K run & walk. If you can’t head to Dublin, CA or to Dublin, Ireland, get moving to Los Angeles!
The biggest event has to be the LA County Irish Fair and Music Festival in Pamona on March 10-11. With performances by local Irish dance groups, community lessons and crafts, and highland games! It’s bound to be a great time being green and having fun! There’s a cost to get in, but parking is free. :)
Looking to rock out on St. Patrick’s Day? Go to Queen Mary’s Shamrock n’ Roll concert, and dance a gig to Irish party tunes an Celtic music while hanging afloat on the Queen Mary.
On Saturday March 16, see the 33rd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in San Diego and Irish Festival in Balboa Park presented by the Irish Congress of Southern California. These local treats featuring a Celtic Village full of renaissance reenactment actors, a Kids Zone, and live entertainment. It’ll be lots of local St. Patrick’s Day fun!
Orange County offers a fun St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Hermosa Beach. It starts at 11:30 AM on March 16. Be sure to get there early to be able to see all the fun St. Patrick’s Day festivities.
Did you know that the Honda LA Marathon falls on the same day as St. Patrick’s Day? If you’re planning on running, be sure to get moving in Los Angeles all green in honor of St. Patrick’s Day!
