It’s that time again my NorthStar movers! You guessed it right…my spring cleaning tip of the week! You may be overwhelmed by all of the chores and all of the cleaning you have to do but don’t panic because I’m here to help with spring cleaning tips! Try to make it fun and see the brighter side of spring cleaning…this is your opportunity to make your home a happy, clean and fresh home! Let’s start off spring cleaning with the proper supplies and tools!
Spring Cleaning Supplies You Need:
– Dusting mitts/ reusable microfiber cloths (for dusting furniture/ electronics)
– Clorox disinfecting wipes (for any spot cleaning)
– Windex glass and surface wipes (for window and mirror)
– Disinfectant spray
(You can always make your own green spring cleaning supplies too!)
First, let’s start spring cleaning with the bedroom! Open the windows and let some fresh air in, don’t let your bedrooms be stuffy! Next, dust your furniture, and clean out your drawers. Rather than throwing things you don’t need, recycle them! After taking all of your things out from your drawers, clean it with cleaning sprays or wipes, then set all of your belongings back neatly. Next tackle your closet. This is your chance to donate the outfits you don’t need whether it’s sweaters, shirts, jeans or shoes.
Sweep the floors, and vacuum under your bed. Wash your bed sheets and curtains. Dust anything else in your room and spray air freshener. Now that’s clean room well done!
Yes, we all know spring cleaning your bathroom is no fun. It’s my least favorite but I’m going to give you few tips to make you bathroom look like squeaky clean. Make your bathroom look like sophisticated clean like the hotel restrooms!
To clean your toilet, use all-purpose cleaner plus a little bit of baking soda. Next, clean your drains, by pouring a quarter cup of baking soda and vinegar. Leave the ingredients overnight, and then flush with boiling water. For your mirrors, you can mix white vinegar with water in a spray bottle, and then wipe it with a microfiber cloth. Finally we come to the floors, remove any dirt and dust with a dust mop. Fill your mop bucket with hot water and add two or three drops of liquid soap. Start mopping the floors, and then rinse the entire floor with fresh warm water. Leave it to dry, and you’re done!
Finally, there’s spring cleaning the kitchen! First start off by cleaning any dirty dishes then store them back to their places after drying them. Then start on cleaning the actual kitchen. First you would need a sponge and an all purpose-cleaner (hopefully a green one). Start wiping cabinetry, then walls, then counter tops, then the fridge and stove, ending with the floors.
When you clean your cabinets, take all of your dishes out, so you can clean all of the dirt and dust that might have been stuck in the corners. Then put everything back. Clean all of your appliances from top to bottom such as your refrigerator, microwave, stove and dishwasher. Scrub your sink and wipe down your faucet. And finally after cleaning every cabinet, counter and appliances, mop your floors!
And with that, you’ve finished your spring cleaning! If there’s any spring cleaning tips I’ve missed, tell me about it in the comments below.
