Summa, summa, summertime! You know what summer means to me? Lots of LA fun! While I already told you about my plans for free LA fun in the summer, now I want to tell you all about my favorite day trips that you can take in the Los Angeles area. What do you do to get your daily dose of LA fun in the summer? If you can’t answer that question, keep reading! I’d love to give you a few ideas to fulfill your LA fun needs:
LA Fun: Water, water, everywhere!
LA fun should involve a way to beat the heat!
Like water parks? Good thing LA is full of them! If you’re looking for LA fun with a giant water slide, check out Raging Waters, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, or Soak City.
LA fun might also involve a trip to the beach. (Because really, what’s more LA fun than the beach?) Whether you want to surf, soak up the sun, hike, sail in a cardboard boat or ride a roller coaster, LA has a ton of different beaches full of LA fun! Here are the best 8 beaches for LA fun.
Want a day or two away? Check out Catalina Island! As LA’s go-to island getaway, at Catalina Island you can be a beach bum, fish, shop, hike (look out for buffalo!), zip line, kayak, and much more! Insider tip: the Catalina Express is free on your birthday!
LA Fun: Museums galore!
LA is full of so much culture, a portion of which can be found in the plethora of museums found in the LA area. Who said LA fun can’t involve learning something?
For the art lovers, check out LACMA, MOCA, the J. Paul Getty Museum, and the Norton Simon Museum.
History buffs can explore the Natural History Museum.
Other LA fun museums include the California Science Center and the GRAMMY Museum.
One of my favorite places is The Huntington. Stunningly beautiful gardens, interesting library exhibits, and fantastic art collections make this a LA fun hotspot.
LA Fun: Entertainment Addict
Can’t get enough of movies, tv, and celebrities? Here’s some LA fun for you.
Head over to Universal Studios Hollywood or take a tour of Warner Bros. or Paramount Pictures to check out the magic behind the screen.
If you’re looking to do a whole day movie marathon, choose one of LA’s luxurious and stylish movie theatres such as one of the ArcLight Cinemas, the Landmark, or Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.
These are just a few of my favorite things to do for some LA fun. This is definitely not a full list. There are thousands of things to do for LA fun! How do you get your daily dose of LA fun? Tell me about it in the Comments section!
