You’ve either grown up in Los Angeles or after moving to Los Angeles have been here long enough to know your way around the 101 traffic jam and the In-n-out drive thru lines, but have you really explored this bustling metropolis that we call home?
Moving to Los Angeles and living in the second largest city in the country, means some of the greatest tourist attractions right in your own backyard. Sometimes as residents of Los Angeles we don’t get around to visiting the Hollywood sign, Rodeo Drive or even Malibu Beach, unless out of town friends come to visit.

I wanted to share my Los Angeles to do list! Places and things that everyone should see after moving to Los Angeles. If your were thinking of a staycation this holiday season, vacation locally, and explore Los Angeles. From walking tours to eating your way around our international neighborhoods, after exploring your city you will feel like moving to Los Angeles all over again.

The Getty, LACMA, MOCA, and the Skirball, are just a few of the amazing museums sprinkled throughout Los Angeles. Downtown LA WalkingTours recommends starting your day between Temple and Grand Streets. You’ll find the magnificent, Walt

Disney Concert Hall, Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Mark Taper Forum and Ahmanson Theatre all on the same block. You can take a self-guided audio tour of the music center or a docent led tour. Of course a picnic in the music center plaza sounds perfect for taking in the fountains and gardens. Find more amazing walking culture tours and even download the podcasts, become your own tour guide.

Need a little exercise? Try the various trails in the Hollywood Hills, Santa Monica Mountains, Topanga Canyon, or horse back riding in Griffith Park. Hiking in Runyon Canyon, it is more likely to run into a movie star than wildlife, so make sure to wear your lip gloss and hair gel.You can even explore local beaches and join volunteer organizations for beach clean up days, this is a sure way to gain appreciation for your LA beach.

 A Reason to dress up…

Los Angeles nightlife can vary from eclectic artsy bars, where you can be sure to spot a celebrity hiding out, to fashionista lounges and parties. Whatever your predilections may be, Los Angeles night life is vibrant, diverse and guaranteed to get you moving.
