Winter Energy Saving Tips for Small Business

No matter what business you’re in, chances are you could use some extra insulation to keep your energy bills down this winter. According to Small Business California, small businesses waste about 30% of their overall energy use.

That’s why Laura McHolm, owner of Los Angeles-based NorthStar Moving Corporation, had her new office assessed before even moving in. McHolm says, “We hired architects to create a workplace that was environmentally friendly” through such measures as installing automatic lighting sensors and removing walls to let in more light. Despite the extra expenses, she says, “Within the first year it paid for itself.”
