A long-distance move will be a pricey task no matter what, but exact pricing is dependent on multiple factors. “Every move is unique. Factors such as timing, how much stuff you are moving, consolidated shipping, and more impact the cost,” says Laura McHolm, the co-founder of NorthStar Moving Company. “For the last year, the average cost of a move from California to Florida [was] $5,913.”
An estimate from moving company Allied Van Lines roughly concurs with McHolm’s estimate. According to the company, a move from California to Florida will cost between $5,000 and $16,000, with the average linehaul moving cost from California to Florida through Allied at around $4,500.
