Keep Your Kids Moving This Summer! Summer is a child’s paradise! With school out, kids (like me!) have a lot more downtime to go out and have fun! Make sure to keep your kids moving this summer with these awesome LA events! From music performances to summer camps, these LA activities are sure to keep your kids moving this summer!

Camps are a fun easy way to keep your kids moving during summer. You can opt for a day camp or an overnight camp where they can learn how to be away from home. Here are some of the coolest camps I found!

The California Science Center’s Hands-on-Science camp is for children from preschool to 8^th grade. There are over 25 imaginative science classes for children, kids get to have fun and learn about science. Win-win situation!
The LACMA Summer Art camp allows kids to explore the museum’s galleries and explore their creativity in summer sessions taught by real artists! Camp sessions are for children ages 6-9 and ages 10-13. LACMA also offers some Summer art classes for kids, teens, and families!

One of the best ways to keep your kids moving this summer is with music! There are plenty of concerts happening this summer specifically for kids (and some of them are FREE!) Nothing keeps a kid moving this summer like a great melody!

Summer Sounds is a musical festival for children ages 3-11 at the incredible Hollywood Bowl. Each week features music from different parts of the world. There’s even an outdoor fine arts studio. It’s a daily event at 10 and 11:15 am, and it only costs $7. (The art studio costs $3.)

On most Saturdays in July and August, the Ford Ampitheatre invites you and your family to watch family friendly shows in a fun and exciting atmosphere. It’s FREE for kids and $5 for adults with reservations required.
If you’re a Canoga Park local, head on over the Madrid Theater for Monday Morning Concerts. It’s a short concert consisting of a performance, a brief history lesson on the music and cultural presentation, followed by a question-and-answer session with the performers. Not to mention, it’s FREE.

There are plenty other ways of having fun though! Check out some of these way cool events for tons of family fun!

Attend a “story time” at your local library. It’s free, and it gets your kids into reading which is way awesome!
Have your kids join a community league sport at a local recreational center.
Visit a national park for free on June 9.
During July and August, the Annual Long Beach Sea Festival is available for FREE! There are a ton of events all throughout Long Beach including the Chinese Dragon Boat Race and the Great Sand Sculpture event. Lots of fun in the sun by the sea and it’s for the entire family.
Head on over to Topanga Canyon and catch and interactive outdoor theater performance at the Will Greer Theatricum Botanicum. It costs $8, but it’s money well spent once you see your kids interacting with performers and having the times of their lives. Bring cushions for bench seating.

Moving to Hidden Hills is moving to a hidden piece of paradise! It’s a small, exclusive community for those who can afford it with some of the nicest homes in all of California. Hidden Hills has retained the space and feeling of the old country that most of the San Fernando Valley has lost in suburbia. With such gorgeous homes and white fences, moving to Hidden Hills promises peace and privacy. (Not to mention living in a gated community comes with safety and security!) No wonder so many celebrities are moving to Hidden Hills. Notable residents living in Hidden Hills include, Denise Richards, Britney Spears and The Kardashians.

When moving to Hidden Hills, great food can be found in any of the neighboring cities. This historic area is reason enough to get moving to Hidden Hills! Why it was even a site for high profile Hollywood movies!

The Hidden Hills Tennis Club meets the second Tuesday of every month and hold regular events every month! Hidden Hills has an amazing community tennis club as well as a great nearby Hidden Hills Health & Racquet Club. It has got great amenities and a great new fitness center.

If tennis isn’t your cup of tea, Hidden Hills also has the Hidden Hills Horseman Association. The Hidden Hills Horsemen’s Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to horse-related activities in Hidden Hills. They’ve gymkhana, team penning,horse shows, group trail rides, riding clincis, and seminars, and even a veternarian clinic every spring. -related activies in the Hidden Hills Community.

Get moving to Hollywood for its motion picture history! Moving to Hollywood was big in the 1920s through 194os, because Hollywood was booming . Nowadays in modern Hollywood, most of the big movie and tv studios no longer reside in Hollywood, but have branched out into different areas such as Burbank or Studio City, but that’s no reason to not get moving to Hollywood! Living in a town with such history and character is awesome!

Living and moving to Hollywood, it’s hard to not be a tourist in such landmark filled town! Wake up looking at the Hollywood sign, and take a stroll down the Hollywood Walk of Fame while heading to work.

Known locally as Hollyweird, you’ll be sure to see a lot of strange sights once you’re moving to Hollywood, and not just at Ripley’s Believe it or Not Odditorium or at the Wax Museum! Moving to Westlake Village

Westlake Village is an upscale town with beautiful homes, fancy dogs, and an altogether bright neighborhood. With two nearby lakes and lots of trees, Westlake Village feels more like a countryside town rather than a city. Living in Westlake Village means living in a area that has a country feel with all the convenience of the city. Moving to Westlake Village will be a decision you won’t regret.

Every corner you turn, there will be friendly neighbors waving at you. It’s a bright family friendly neighborhood with trees lining the streets. There’s lots of outdoor activities for the whole family! You can go boating on the lake, hiking in the nearby mountains, or head out to one of the fabulous lakeside restaurants. There’s plenty of good eats in Westlake Village. Moving to Westlake Village gives you so many options.

Take a stroll in the park or just drive a little ways and you’ll see the relaxing Westlake Village Lake, one of the largest privately owned lakes in the country! It’s a private lake for Westlake Village residents and resident’s guests only! There’s even an exclusive boating club. Once you get moving to Westlake Village, you’ll get to be a part of this great treat!

Spend a day out at one of Westlake Village’s five beautiful parks: Foxfield Park, Berniece Bennet Park, Canyon Oaks Park, Russel Ranch Park, and Three Springs Park. Each park is different with some having playgrounds, tennis courts, and some opening late until 10 pm. Decide which one is your family favorite and make it a family day by spending it at your favorite park! There are many hiking trails in and around Westlake Village. There are plenty of paths to take with amazing views of the surrounding areas. Some are even walkable by the elderly or younger kids.

If hiking isn’t your thing, maybe you should check out some of these golf courses! The one downside to such a great town is its an area known for brush fires. But I think it’s definitely worth moving to Westlake Village!
