This year the Los Angeles Haunted Hayride has set the bar even higher for their ghoulish guests. Their new hair raising hayride will strike fear into your hearts. The In-Between Dark Maze has been named the scariest maze in LA for the past two years. Once inside you’re plunged into complete darkness and are forced to navigate your way through with nothing but a low voltage lantern. If that doesn’t tickle your funny bone you can always visit Purgatory Haunted Village. New to the village is the Theatre Macabre. It features live entertainment, musical performances, and nightly reenactments of famous horror movie scenes.

Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios takes things to a whole new level when it comes to Halloween Events. This year they’ve got seven new mazes including ones based on Alien vs. Predator and Dracula Untold. Ride the Terror Tram and test your survival skills as you fight off invasions from The Walking Dead. If you’re more into the glitz and glam you can check out the urban movie sets in the backlot.

Knott’s Scary Farm is another Halloween event that’ll send chills down your spine. As you make your way through the different scare zones make sure to watch out for Pinocchio and his haunted marionettes. They’re on a killing spree and looking for human flesh to cover their bodies. Head to Elvira’s big top circus and gaze upon the spectacle of freaks. Monster Mash your way onto the dance floor at Fiesta de Los Muertos and enjoy music and performers.

Halloween events can be fun for adults, but what would Halloween be without candy, trick-or-treating, and costumes? Southern California has tons of Halloween events for kids of all ages. Make your way down to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach for their annual Scarium of the Pacific. Enjoy spooky storytelling, magic shows, and even underwater pumpkin carving! Rock the boat at the Little Monsters Ball on The Queen Mary. Kids can also participate in trick-or-treating, face painting, or the costume contest. For those little goblins that are more musically inclined the EEK! At The Greek! will have them spellbound. They can experience the magnificence of a full symphony orchestra performing popular Halloween tunes.
