A very special holiday is coming up, and that’s Mother’s Day! It’s that time of the year to remember all the lovely mothers out there who have been so caring! It’s a day to honor mothers, motherhood, and maternal bonds! Did you know that Mother’s Day started almost 150 years ago? And we still celebrate this special tradition today. It just goes to show you how moving mothers are! That’s why when it comes to mother’s day, make it a moving day for her!

Plan something special for Mother’s Day! If you haven’t planned it out yet, that’s fine! Turn a simple idea into something special! Surprise your mom with a special outing. Take a hike together or spend the day at the beach together. Maybe head to a unique destination that means something to you! (Try to keep it local and travel as green as possible! The best kind of Mother’s Day is a green Mother’s Day!)

After your excursion, take her out for brunch or dinner, or maybe even plan a picnic and have brunch in a local park or at the beach. Enjoy your time with your family surrounded by the beautiful greenery.  Make something special and yummy for the occasion! Most of the time we have to thank our mothers for all the delicious meals they prepare for us, but turn things around and cook for your mom! Make her favorite meal or a sweet treat. If your mom is a chocolate lover like mine, I recommend making these great vegan chocolate cupcakes with strawberry filling for Mother’s Day!

No idea what to get your mom for Mother’s Day? Remember, my NorthStar Movers, it’s the thought that counts! Get creative and create something from scratch! Create a Mother’s Day card from recycled paper!  Organic flowers are also a sweet and beautiful gesture. Buy flowers to plant together in her garden. Not only is it a great gift, but you can create unforgettable memories together.

I hope everyone has a moving Mother’s Day.
