Hiya! I’m bubbling over with excitement from writing about moving to London! As the famous Londoner Dr. Samuel Johnson said: “when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford.” Moving to London is the dream of just about anyone in love with all the culture that Europe has to offer. And don’t worry about the stereotype about British food when moving to London. It’s delicious! So start packing your tea cups, and don’t forget an umbrella if you’re moving to London! (But before you get moving to London, make sure to hire some great professional movers to pack up your TARDIS.)  Check out my favorite reasons to get moving to London!

Culture and History

With a history that dates back to Roman times and the largest population of any municipality in the European Union, London is full of culture and history. There are an insane amount of museums and historical places such as the British Museum, the Tower of London, and even the Sherlock Holmes Museum! Moving to London might cost you a few pounds, but most of London’s museums have free admission. If you are a history buff or art lover, moving to London is a must!

Theatre and Music

Moving to London won’t put you on Broadway in New York, but it’s the next best thing! London is known for its amazing theatre. The West End theatre district is full of musical theatre Broadway favorites such as Wicked, Les Misérables, and Phantom of the Opera. Moving to London means loads of non-musical theatre like Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. Moving to London also puts you in the home of amazing music, whether you like classical, opera, punk, rock, or anything else that might make you chuffed to bits!

Parks and Gardens

Moving to London will make any nature-lover happy! London has plenty of green space. I love the idea of moving to London because in London, if you just turn a few corners, you’ll probably find a park. Some of the largest parks in London include Hyde Park and Regent’s Park, which are complete with rose gardens, horseback riding, and a summer open air theatre. Moving to London is a royal idea just to be able to see Kew Gardens and the royal palaces’ gardens.

Public Transport

Moving to London gives you the opportunity to use one of the world’s best public transportation systems. It’s easy to be green in the city! Having a car in London is completely unnecessary. The London Underground (locally known as ‘the tube’) is an amazing subway system. Don’t forget to “Mind the Gap!”

Get moving to London to ride a red double-decker bus! A newer addition to London’s transport is the Barclay’s bikeshare system. You can easily rent a bike and use it for as long as you want and anywhere you want. Just remember that moving to London means biking on the left side of the road! Moving to London also is easy with the extensive black cab and minicab services available. If you need to get out of London, there are five airports serving the city and hundreds of railway stations. Cor blimey! It’s so easy to get moving to London!
